“Abhi and Rana must have come with their girls.” He grinned, flashing his dimples. “How lucky for us that they stacked the fridge.”
The vegetables and other produce weren’t a week old. They looked quite fresh. “Yeah, very lucky,” she said with a scoff.
With another grin, he sat across from her at the small dining table. He ate his huge omelet in barely ten bites while she was still halfway through hers. He got up and poured coffee into two mugs and brought back hers without milk or sugar. He added a generous amount of milk and sugar to his before sitting across her again.
The cozy scene made her stomach flutter in both longing and nervousness. She looked away from him and stared outside the large windows of the beach house. The waves crashed outside barely a few hundred feet away, and the ocean looked stunningly beautiful.
“We should go swimming after breakfast,” he said. “The weather is awesome.”
“I don’t have a swimming costume.”
He smirked. “You don’t need any. Naked swimming is the best.”
Her heart jerked. “I’m not swimming naked! What if your cousins decide to drop in?”
“They won’t. Not this weekend.”
That’s when she knew for sure. The jerk had not only planned to spend the weekend with her at the beach house, he had even told his cousins about his plan so they could coordinate.
She narrowed her eyes at him. “We better return to the campus after the swim,” she warned.
His eyes flashed at yet another small victory of her agreeing to the swim. “Yes, of course.”
They swam for two hours after breakfast. Her enemy was right. Swimming naked was thrilling and refreshing. She laughed, and they played pranks on each other in the water like they used to during their childhood. But by the time they stepped out of the ocean, they no longer felt like children. Passion took over once again.
She clung to him as he drove into her on the beach house open deck. The sound of the ocean, the cool breeze and the bright sun heightened their passion.
When release came, she could see stars behind her eyes at the intensity. The sounds of their release was drowned by the ocean.
Much later, while she lay boneless and exhausted floating in the aftermath of their passion, her enemy raised his head.
“Let’s spend the day here. We can return tomorrow.”
She stared at his handsome, chiseled face, which was flushed due to the aftermath of their passion.
“Okay,” she said, even though a small voice inside her once again warned her of getting in too deep with him.
And the other voice, which now sounded exasperated said it was too late.
CHAPTER 45
As usual, her enemy broke his promise again. It was early Monday morning when he rode them back from the Simha family beach house to the campus.
“You are a manipulative ass!” she muttered, getting down from the bike in a hurry.
He grinned. “Oh, come on. We had the best time out there. You even learned to ride a bike.”
She glared even though she knew it was true. She enjoyed every minute of the weekend they had spent together. With bike rides along the beach, cooking together and passionate moments under the star-lit sky, it was truly a weekend she would never forget.
“I won’t be at the cafeteria during lunch today,” he said. “I’ll be in the digital admin building fixing something that just came up. I’ll see you this evening.”
She nodded, even as her stomach fluttered, missing him already. She always looked forward to seeing the cocky smirk on his handsome face at the cafeteria.
Grabbing the back of her neck, he pulled her close and kissed her. “See you later, Sam,” he murmured.
“Bye,” she whispered, her heart soaring high.
Pulling away from him, she returned to her housing unit.
