Page 34 of Reckless Hate

“See, I told you,” Rishi said in an amused tone.

She took a deep breath and ignored her racing heart. She didn’t even turn. Luckily, she saw Neeraj Batra rushing out of the trees. His clothes remained intact, which meant he hadn’t tried anything.

“Uh oh,” said Rishi. “Looks like there will be a confrontation. Ved Simha has that bad-boy look on his face. He’s definitely here to cause trouble and shake things up at the party.”

“I don’t care. So, you can stop the running commentary.”

Rishi grinned. “You might not care, darling. But the bad boy is heading right towards you.”

She hated how her heart skipped a beat. The screaming, excited girls drowned the other noises around her. But the fine hairs on the back of her neck stood up when she felt a presence behind her.

“Samantha Roy,” Ved Simha’s deep voice spoke right next to her ear. “How surprising to see you at a party. I thought you were antisocial.”

Suppressing a shiver caused by the warm masculine breath over her ear, she ignored him. But her enemy wasn’t the kind to be ignored.

“You promised not to party without me at Simha. Breaking your promises already?”

Anger shot up inside her as he reminded her of the childhood promise she had made when they both dreamed of attending Simha University.

Turning back, she looked at his handsome, chiseled face that held a mocking smile, flashing both his dimples. Without another thought, she threw her drink at his face.

There were shocked gasps from the girls around and laughter and hooting from the Eagles guys.

Her eyes were locked with her enemy, whose face was dripping with the drink she had thrown at him.

“She’s a firecracker,” a drunk Eagles guy declared with a laugh. “You deserve a kiss for throwing a drink at Simha. No one has ever done that before.”

The guy suddenly held her wrist and was about to pull her to him when Ved punched him. But her enemy wasn’t being her savior.

Ved Simha looked at her while wiping his face. “Yes, she is a firecracker.”

He removed his motorcycle jacket and handed it to a guy next to him. Standing in a form-fitting t-shirt, he looked at her with a dark smile. “But sometimes, fire needs to cool off.”

Before she could say anything or react, he stepped closer. And the next moment, she found herself thrown over her enemy’s shoulder before he began walking away.

Chaos ensued around them and people threw punches at each other.

“What the hell are you doing, Ved!” she shouted. “Put me down!”

But her enemy’s stride didn’t pause as he headed towards the ocean. She understood what he was about to do.

“Don’t you dare, Ved!” she warned.

But her enemy dared. He walked into the water and dropped her. She fell in with a big splash.

When she somehow managed to come up, she was completely drenched.

The bastard enemy of hers grinned. “So glad to see you swimming at a beach party, Sam. You don’t look so stuck up anymore. You should do this more often.”

“Salaud! Connard!”she shouted.

He laughed as she swore at him in French. “See you later, Sam. I’m looking forward to your next shot.”

He walked away, leaving her fuming and pissed off in the water.

I’m going to kill him!

By the time she got out of the water and went to her car, the party was completely ruined, and most people also began heading back.
