“I’ll help,” he said.

He picked Samantha up from the bed, carried her to the middle of the room and had her stand upright. “Change her now.”

He turned his head the other way while the roommate undressed Samantha.

His eyes fell on the wall where most students kept pictures of their loved ones. But Samantha’s wall was nearly empty except for one picture frame. It was a photo of a very young child. There was a lot of resemblance between Samantha and the child except for the eyes. The child didn’t have Samantha’s vivid brown eyes.

“I-I can’t reach the top of her head to put her t-shirt on. Can you help?” Anita Nair asked.

He didn’t turn. Still looking the other way, he took the t-shirt and pulled it down Samantha’s head. The roommate then managed to pull Samantha’s arms through the sleeves.

“All done.”

He turned to see that Samantha was wearing a long t-shirt that fell midway to her thighs. His heart twisted strangely at seeing her look vulnerable. She resembled his Sam, the girl he knew before she turned into the cold-hearted girl who aimed at perfection.

“Thanks, Anita.”

He once again picked up Samantha and carried her to the bed. Placing her carefully in the middle of the bed, he sat on the end.

“Uh… are you sure you want to be here?” the roommate asked. “I can stay.”

“It’s okay. I’ll be here. I want to make sure she’s fine until she wakes up.”

“Are you sure?” Her cheeks reddened. “I know you are together. But if you are caught in the girlshousing unit, you could be suspended.”

He smiled once again. “It’s okay. I’ll manage not to get caught.”

The girl blushed until her face turned a deep red. He knew she was most likely recalling that he had a reputation of hooking up with girls in threesomes in their housing units. She probably thought it was very romantic that a guy with his reputation finally fell for a girl.

“Uh… okay,” she said. “Call me if you need help.”

“I will. Thanks.”

After the roommate left, he looked at Samantha. It would have taken him under a minute to unzip and remove her dress and put her into nightclothes. But he didn’t want to.

Pretty soon, he was going to see Samantha Roy naked again. But when that happened, he wanted her to be the one shedding her clothes for him.

CHAPTER 25

Samantha woke up to a dull throbbing head.

It took quite an effort to open her heavy-lidded eyes. And when she finally did, the first thing she saw was her enemy.

She blinked her eyes a couple of times, wondering if she was dreaming of him. But the cocky, arrogant face remained right in front of her.

“Good morning,” he rumbled.

She was shocked and sat up hurriedly. “What the hell are you doing in my room!”

His smile grew, flashing his dimples. “What do you think?”

Her heart raced. The last thing she recalled was going to a party held outside the medieval fort. She saw him on the top floor, and they ended up kissing. She recalled the urgency and passion of the kiss. After that, she couldn’t recall much of what happened.

Dear God. Did I sleep with my enemy?

She stared at him in shock while he continued to smile in amusement.

Dragging her eyes away from his face, she sat up while pulling the blanket along with her. She raised it slightly and let out a mental sigh of relief when she saw she had her clothes on. Her enemy was wearing clothes too. Which meant they hadn’t slept together.
