“When should we submit the report on the Outreach Program?” she asked, pushing away the memories.

He looked at her for a moment. “Anytime this coming week. But it’s always better to do it early on when we remember the highlights.”

She nodded. Then taking the last sip of her soda, she got up.

“I’ll see if I can work on it tonight. I’ll discuss it with you tomorrow,” she said.

Picking up her purse, she began walking away. She went towards the lifts and pressed the button. While she waited, the music turned louder along with the drunken, excited shouts from the students.

She glanced towards the party, expecting her enemy to rejoin his group. But her heart jerked when she saw him still seated at the bar counter. His eyes were directed at her.

With her heart thudding, she dragged her eyes away from him and looked at the lift’s closed doors.

She spent the next couple of hours trying to type the report, but when she couldn’t focus on it, she put it away.

She ordered room service, but she couldn't enjoy her dinner. She had to waste half of it.

Her body vibrated with restless energy. Her mind was constantly wandering to her enemy.

Why was she attracted only to the jerk? She hated him, but the heat and sizzle between them seemed to overpower everything. She could barely sit in a room alone with him without falling on each other.

Her heart jerked and began thudding hard as a thought struck her.

What would happen if I completely let go and gave in to the attraction?

Her body shuddered at the thought. She knew her enemy was experienced, and spending the night with him would be beyond memorable. But what would happen after?

Their past couldn’t be changed. Neither could their present or future. They would remain enemies. But maybe it would be some sort of closure? She would stop feeling the constant attraction towards him, and he would stop haunting her dreams.

It was a reckless, crazy thought. Just like her enemy.

But I want to do it.

She wanted to experience passion. And she wanted to rid of her enemy from her mind.

With her heart continuing to thud loudly, she looked at the digital clock next to the bed. It was after midnight, which meant the party must be over, and her enemy must have returned to his room.

Sucking in a deep breath, she went to the landline and called the reception desk. The phone was answered after two rings.

“Simha Hotel. You’ve reached the front desk. How may we help you?”

Samantha bit her lip. “I would like to know Ved Simha’s room number.”

“Just a minute, ma’am.” There was a momentary pause before the receptionist came back to the line. “Mr. Simha is in room 1078.”

Thanking the receptionist, she ended the call.

Her heart thudded like a drum as she stared outside the hotel room.

It is reckless and crazy. But I want to do it.

She was going to sleep with her enemy.

CHAPTER 31

Samantha nearly returned to her room thrice before mustering courage and taking the lift to the topmost floor of the hotel.
