CHAPTER 32
The next morning, Team Simha returned to campus and celebrated the championship wins.
Except for meeting her tennis coaches and team, Samantha ignored the rest of the celebrations. She immersed herself into classes and workshop.
“I was searching for you everywhere, darling.”
Samantha looked up to see Rishi entering the textile engineering workshop.
“Why didn’t you answer your phone?” he asked.
“It must be in the silent mode. I have to get these experiment results sent in a week.”
Rishi nodded even as there was a small frown on his forehead as she put away the fabric and shut down her laptop.
“Where are you going?” Rishi asked.
“To the library. I have a couple of pending assignments to finish.”
Just when she was about to leave, Rishi stood in her way. “Alright. What’s going on?” he asked.
“I just told you. I have assignments to finish.”
Rishi shook his head. “Oh no, you don’t. Ever since you returned from the championship games five days ago, you’ve avoided everyone, including me and Anita. Something definitely is going on. You barely spoke to me for five minutes to give a boring high-level update of the games and nothing else.”
She fell quiet, but she knew Rishi was perceptive. “Nothing’s going on. I’ve just been busy.”
“Oh, please. Tell that to someone else. Not to me.”
He frowned. “Did something happen between you and Ved Simha? Did he bully or humiliate you during the games? He looked broody and pissed as hell too, when I saw him. He looked like someone stole his favorite toy.”
She felt her cheeks heat at the description. “I’ll talk to you later,” she said. “I’m going to be late.”
Rishi looked at her face. “Fine. But next time, I want you to speak for more than five minutes. I want you to tell me everything.”
She nodded before grabbing her purse and stepping out of the workshop.
The cool breeze of the night fell on her face while she walked to the library. The cobwebs from drowning herself in her coursework began to clear while other thoughts rushed in.
It had been five days since she spent a torrid night with her enemy—five days since she let him touch her and make her lose control. She had reveled every moment of it. And when morning came, she had snuck out of his hotel room and went back to hers. Inside her room, she had made a promise to herself to never think about the night again.
But in the last five days, she had broken the promise nearly every damn moment. The passionate moments spent with her enemy haunted her day and night. Each night she woke up feeling hot and bothered with throbbing between her legs. It was shameful and embarrassing.
How could she want her enemy again? She hated him but loved his touch. It was humiliating that she had no control over her thoughts and feelings.
Sucking in a deep breath, she once again pushed away thoughts of her enemy.
The library wasn’t overly crowded. It was past nine and most students had left for the day. She walked into the chemistry section.
A few students were seated at one of the tables and were giggling and whispering. She frowned, hoping they’d leave soon. Taking a seat away from them, she opened her laptop to finish her assignments. She had plenty of time to turn them in, but she wanted to keep her mind occupied.
Even as she started on her assignment, she could only stare at her laptop screen. Her enemy once again occupied her mind. Memories of the touch and feel of him obsessed her. She always knew sex was something animalistic and people often lost control of their senses and inhibitions, but she never thought she’d actually revel in those feelings.
Ved Simha was quite an animal in bed. But it wasn’t just him. He brought out the animal inside her as well. She was shocked by how she had responded to his demands and more or less begged for more.
Her cheeks heated when she felt the quiver deep inside her body recalling the moments of that night.
“Oh hi, Ved. How are you?”
