Page 81 of Reckless Hate

“Hey, bro,” Rana’s cheerful voice greeted. “We are planning a bike race. Meet us in thirty minutes?”

“You guys go ahead. I can’t join you this time… something came up.”

There was a pause. Ved had never declined a bike race with his cousins. Racing their bikes together was how they usually spent quality time.

“Is everything alright, bro?” his cousin asked.

“Yup. See you guys in the morning.”

Ending the call, he clenched his palm into a fist. Not even a bike race could clear the thoughts of the person he wanted above anything else.

He sat alone in his room broodingly for the rest of the night until midnight. Just when he thought he wouldn’t be able to sleep, his phone buzzed with a message.

Samantha:I agree to the deal. Come over to my room.

CHAPTER 34

Samantha’s heart thudded so hard she thought she would faint with sheer nervousness. It was semi-dark in her bedroom with only the night lamp turned on next to the bed. When a shadow moved on her balcony and she heard a soft thud, she closed her eyes and bit her lip to gather courage.

She opened them again to see the tall, broad figure of her enemy sliding open her balcony door.

“Sam, I—” he broke off abruptly when he saw her.

Her heart jerked seeing his handsome, chiseled face. There was a look of shock followed by a blank expression.

She was seated on the middle of the bed, naked from the waist up. Underneath her was Rishi who was equally naked from the waist up. A blanket covered her from her waist down and Rishi’s legs. But it was obvious to anyone to know what was happening.

“I’m glad you came,” she said, her voice holding only the slightest of a quiver. “You are right. I can’t ignore my desires. I need to feed them until I’m sated.”

Her enemy was silent and utterly still.

Slowly, she curved her trembling lips into a smile. “I heard you are into threesomes. Would you like to join us?”

His eyes flashed darkly, and she could feel the intensity of his rage and other emotions radiating through the room.

Her stomach clenched at the thought of him charging towards them in anger. But he didn’t move.

She had shattered his ego, one of the things the Simhas valued. By being in bed with Rishi, she was declaring that Ved Simha was just another guy she had slept with. He didn’t mean anything to her other than an attractive body.

His hands clenched into fists as his eyes ran over her naked torso and then at the sight of her and Rishi on the bed. He stared for a long moment, absorbing it. And then, he turned away.

Opening the door to the balcony, he quietly slipped away and disappeared.

The thick silence and tension remained in the room long after he was gone. It was broken by the guy who was a participant in the macabre drama.

“Darling, he’s gone,” Rishi said softly.

Moving away from Rishi, she burst into tears.

She didn’t know why she was crying, but hot tears flowed down her cheeks while her heart felt as though it were breaking into a hundred pieces.

She felt Rishi’s arms enclosing her as he rocked her gently. “Darling, you are breaking my heart. I can’t see you like this. I don’t understand why the two of you are tormenting each other when it’s obvious to any sane mind that you two want each other and belong together.”

She shook her head as tears continued to flow. “We don’t belong together. I hate him.”

Rishi exhaled. “I don’t understand why, darling. And seriously, if you don’t tell me why you hate him, I’m going to make a serious pass at him. I know Ved Simha is straight, but it’s worth a try. That guy is one hot and intense masculine specimen.”

She laughed through her tears. She knew Rishi did fancy her enemy, and he might really make a pass. Her enemy would be beyond shocked.
