Page 88 of Reckless Hate

Her enemy kept his promise not to disturb her. But he once again broke the other one about not staying the night.

She knew she wasn’t dreaming when she opened her eyes to faint sunlight and saw her enemy’s face while he watched her. But when she fell back asleep again and opened her eyes later in the morning, he was gone.

Her heart thudded. She hadn’t minded him staying the night. But she only hoped the passion between them would fizzle out soon and their deal would end.

If that didn’t happen soon, she might foolishly get attached to her enemy, which she didn’t want to happen again.

CHAPTER 38

Days passed by, but the deal continued to last. Classes, tennis practice and workshop took up her day. But the nights were entirely dedicated to her enemy.

Her enemy continued to come to her room each night. And the moment they touched each other, passion exploded. With each passing night, the craving and desire only seemed to grow rather than fade away.

It was exciting yet scary at the same time. Her enemy continued to break the rules. He had dinner at her apartment most of the time and stayed all night. Even though she grumbled out loud, she enjoyed his company. She also began smiling more often.

Her friend sensed the change in her.

“Darling, you are glowing and smiling. What’s happening?”

Rishi was at the textile engineering workshop with her. No classes were held that day, but she and Rishi stayed in the workshop to complete their experiment.

Samantha was happy that day, more than usual. “I heard back from my lawyer this morning. He said my petition got approved.”

“Oh, that’s great, darling! This calls for a celebration.”

Samantha nodded. She was beyond happy about her petition to adopt her stepbrother getting approved. The only clause remaining was for her to graduate from Simha University.

Faint sounds of shouting and cheers erupted from outside along with music. It was the festival of colors, and students were celebrating it on the campus in a big way.

“That sounds like fun. I think we should join the celebrations, darling.”

She didn’t like going to parties, but right then, she was in the mood for a celebration.

“Sure. Let’s go.”

Although she didn’t intend to join the Holi party, she did adhere to the dress code and wore a white dress. Rishi was wearing a white shirt with red-colored pants.

They stepped out of the workshop and went towards the central lawns where the celebrations were ongoing. Rishi held her hand while they walked together.

She didn’t mind that people thought she and Rishi were a couple. Normally, she gave a damn about people’s opinions about her. But she did mind if someone were to think she and her enemy were together.

She didn’t want to be associated with Ved Simha in public. The attention and curiosity she would draw would be too annoying to handle. And all of that for only a temporary hookup. Despite the passion between her and her enemy raging on, she knew the end was inevitable.

“Ooh. I think I spot the Simha boys, darling.”

She looked towards the celebrations where hundreds of students covered in color were packed together on the lawns. “How can you recognize them?” she asked.

“It’s their height and broad shoulders. They sure got lucky with the genes.” Rishi chuckled. “I wonder if the rest of their body is as impressive. They do have large… feet.”

Her face heated in a hot blush. She hoped Rishi was still looking at the crowd and not at her.

She did know for a fact that Ved Simha was quite gifted in every department. She had to tell her enemy to go easy sometimes during sex because of his size, which the bastard didn’t heed.

As though thinking about the devil once again summoned him, she felt a prickling behind her neck. She turned, and her eyes met with her enemy’s. He was standing next to one of his cousins she didn’t recognize at first because of the colored face. But she guessed the cousin was Abhiram Simha since there was a girl next to him who resembled Avantika Patel.

Rishi had told her about the rumors that Abhiram and Avantika might be a secret couple.

Her enemy’s eyes narrowed looking at her. She knew he must be pissed. He had asked her quite a few times to join him for the Holi party, and she had refused. And now, she had shown up with Rishi. She knew her enemy must be looking at their joined hands.
