“Whatever. I’ll walk.” She adjusts her purse strap and turns to head up the block. I admire her ass swaying beneath her dress before I snap back to reality.

More than a handful.

“Get on the fucking bike, Ella.”

She dismisses me with a flick of her hand and keeps walking. “No thanks.”

I curse under my breath and fire up the bike. Helmet balanced between my legs, I creep forward to follow her, weaving in and out of the lane to go around parked cars.

“Fuck’s sake, Ella. Get on the damn bike.”

“Go find someone youliketo give a ride to.”

I knew that would come back to bite me in the ass.

“I’m not leaving you out here, so you can get on the fucking bike or I can follow you and cause a scene the whole way home.”

She stops in the middle of the sidewalk and throws out her hands. “Why do you care?”

“Because there’s a murderer on the loose and I need a waitress.”

Okay, that was low.

“Wow, how very noble of you.” She turns and resumes her walk.

“Fuck this.” I see an opening between two cars ahead and jump the curb to stop the bike in front of her.

“Get on the bike.”

“I can’t. Look at my dress.”

Well, since she gave me permission, I take a minute to drink her in. Sky high heels, smooth, creamy thighs that flare out into full hips, and the black material of her dress stretched across her tits.

She crosses her arms and scoffs while I peruse her body.

“Did it work?”

She scrunches her nose and eyebrows. “Did what work?”

I gesture from head to toe with my hand. “The dress. That’s what it’s for, right? To get laid?”

She throws her hands out to the side. “Unbelievable.”

“Nah. You didn’t get laid. You’re still grumpy.” I rub my forefinger across my bottom lip. “Unless he couldn’t get you off.”

“You’re an ass.”

“You’re not wrong. Listen, if you don’t get on this bike I’ll throw you over my shoulder and ride all the way home showing everyone what your date didn’t get to see.”

Her mouth falls open.

“Yeah, I know. I’m an ass. You already said that.”

We lock eyes, neither of us moves.

So, it’s to be a duel then?

I stand to swing my leg over the bike and she lurches forward.
