“I have a couple of things to do there and there are a couple of things I want to show you.” She paused before she sat in her seat, a smile upon her lips.

“Like, you are treating me out to some sights in New York like a date?” She refused to examine why that thought alone made her giddy. And she refused to think about the fact that he was working as well and it wasn’t all about pleasure.

“You don’t need to look all surprised that I would take you out. Did we not go to the club?” Val rolled her eyes as she sat across from Vinny as he sat down.

“That was work.”

“It was still a date.” No matter what he said, she knew the truth, however, she did agree. It was still a better date than she had been on in the past. She gave him a brief smile before her eyes looked around at the plane, noticing that the small plane was certainly built for comfort and she couldn’t help but wonder how many private business meetings had been set up here.

“It’s nice to have you back on board, Mr. Constantini.” Val’s eyes snapped to the flight attendant who had stepped up to their table and she took in the fact that this woman only had eyes for the man across from Val. “Are you having a short trip in New York again?” Val bristled at that. By the way that sounded, the woman knew quite a bit about Vinny’s habits and where he stayed, or at least how long.

“A few days, at least Nicole.” Val leaned on the arm of the chair as she stared at the blonde hair beauty. Yes, she could see how a woman like that would catch his eyes and probably did. And that thought left a very sour taste in her mouth though she knew Vinny had slept around. She never really saw the women he was with and she sure as fuck didn’t want to see it now.

“Will you be taking in your usual sights, sir?”

“Maybe not, depends on what the lady wants.” Val finally turned her head and realized that Vinny had been watching her while she was glaring at Nicole. And she so badly wanted to wipe the smirk off his lips.

“Of course,” Nicole said, finally turning her eyes to Val. Val could see the look of confusion in their depths and she could see why; Vinny wouldn’t have brought a woman on this plane. “Are you family, miss?” Val narrowed her eyes. This bitch knew she wasn’t family and knew damn good and well that she was no young lady.

“No, at least not like you would think.” Val shifted so that she could rest her head in her left hand, her diamond on full display, “I’m the fiancé.” Nicole blinked rapidly for a moment before she cleared her throat.

“I’m sorry and congratulations. May I get you something to drink? Wine perhaps.”

“Three fingers of whiskey and two ice cubes, please.”

“Yes, of course. Vinn…Mr. Constanti, your usual?”

“Please Nicole.” Val watched the woman walk off and then heard the announcement that they would be taking off and the drinks would have to wait till they were in the air. Shame, she could have used that drink to wipe off the smirk on Vinny’s face.

“What?” Val snapped.

“You are quite the tigress aren’t you?” Val leaned back in her seat and crossed her legs.

“She was flirting.”

“Nicole always has, it’s her nature I believe.”

“And what, you fucked her too?” Vinny merely lifted a brow. “Well, you can forget taking her to some hotel room you know,” Val told him, her tone a bit harsh. Vinny’s smirk was wiped off his face and Val enjoyed that.

“I know my place, Valentina, I’m well aware of what I can’t do.” Val crossed her arms and turned her gaze to watch the racing scenery out the window as they gained speed and lifted off. “I have never touched Nicole, though she has followed me and even snuck into my room.” Val glanced at him out of the corner of her eye, battling between wanting to ask and yet not. Finally, she mentally sighed and gave in.

“And why haven’t you fucked her? At least that’s what I gather what you mean when you say you haven’t touched her.”

“She’s on my dad’s payroll,” he said as if it meant something, which made no sense to her.

“Wait, you mean you don’t fuck anyone who works for your dad? No matter what the job is?” Finally, the drinks came and though Vinny gave Nicole a quick smile, nothing more was said.

“Nope.” Vinny took a sip of his drink while she just stared at hers.

“Why?”

“My dad could turn a blind eye to the shit I did, even if he didn’t like it. But if it was staff, he couldn’t. And if anything happened with them that would be even worse. And because he didn’t want to lose good help, it was something I was taught from a young age. I could be cut off from everything if that was a rule I didn’t follow. I spent too much time busting my ass in working for him that I wasn’t going to risk taking a chance.”

“I see,” Val said, finally taking a small sip.

“Besides, I have never really cared for a woman who was making it too easy to fuck her. Nicole, though beautiful, is that way.”

“But women always throw themselves at you.”
