"FUCKING STOP!" Val screamed as she stood up. "Stop planning my fucking wedding. Neither one of you know what I want and seem to not listen to me. And I really don’t give a rat's ass what either one of you wants or what you think you fucking look good in. This is my God damn wedding, not yours.
"And you are off your fucking rocker, Sofia, if you think for one God damn minute I will have Celeste as my maid of honor. She is your favorite, but she is nothing to me nor to Vinny. And out of respect for you, which is really slim at this moment, I will have her in my wedding. But I refuse to have her as my maid of honor. I have a best friend for that role who will help me hit the vipers that keep coming after me." With that, Val grabbed her stuff and walked out of the room. She was ready to call anyone to get her the fuck out of there is Vinny wasn’t ready.
She slammed the front door, almost wishing she had taken a picture of their faces because both were stunned and it was fucking fantastic. That also felt good and she had wished that Vinny had witnessed that, although had he been there, they might not have done that. Val pulled her phone out of her pocket and pulled up her contacts, ready to call Luciana when the front door opened. She turned around, a smile gracing her lips as Vinny stepped out and took her hand.
"You left Celeste and my mom speechless, it was great." She gave him an odd look and he shrugged. "I went in search of you to leave and saw them standing there, mouths dropped open. I was fast and took a picture before I walked out of the room. What did you tell them?"
"To stop planning my wedding and that no way in hell was Celeste going to be my maid of honor." Vinny shivered at the thought and Val laughed. "What did your dad want?"
"To tell me not to be blinded by this piece of ass," Vinny said, wrapping his arm around her, and lightly slapping her butt. She shook her head, confused by that. "He thinks you are behind the bomb and the fucked up gun deal."
"What the hell. Why?!"
"Because you were there, you knew about it." Val glanced back at the house that they were walking away from and cringed at the fact that she hated both her in-laws so severely and that it might be a hard road ahead for them and their marriage if there were so many issues already.
~ Chapter 45 ~
“Are you okay?” Vinny asked her, rather concerned by the vibes she was giving off. Not that he minded her quietness, but he could feel the storm raging under her skin and he wanted to express it before she blew up. He opened the door to the house and allowed her to go in before him, following her in.
“Yes,” she said as she flung her purse on the table. “God, no. What does your dad have against me that he would keep on thinking I would do something like that? Why is everyone out to end what everyone else has tried to build up with us? Why would I be such a bitch to take you out over the sake of a fucking marriage contract? I’m not that petty! When I sign something, I stake my life behind it, I don’t just half-ass it to half-ass it!” Vinny watched her, a smile on his face as he leaned back against the wall, his arms crossed. He loved seeing her like that, even if she didn’t know how upset she was over everything.
“Val, what they think doesn’t matter. I know the truth.” She spun around and faced him, her eyes wide and he could see the hurt buried there. He hated to see that and he would prove his dad wrong.
“You do?” she questioned. He was never the type to reassure a woman, he saw no point behind it. If they weren’t confident in themselves, that was on them and he made no attempt to change that. But this was different, she was different, she was getting to him in ways he really thought he would never do.
“Yes. I don’t listen to my dad on everything, you know. He’s blinded by other issues, but I know you a lot better now.” He uncrossed her arms and wrapped them around his waist as he wrapped his arms around her while he rested his head on hers, her head tucked against his chest. He glanced up as Frankie walked into the room, gave his head a quick shake, and watched as he walked back out. Yeah, another thing he didn’t do, was cuddle.
“You’re not just saying that?” He laughed at her question and he could feel her smile.
“I’m still me, Val. I don’t speak words I don’t mean, I don’t try to soften blows just because the truth is harsh, I don’t try to be a good guy when I know I’m not; none of that has changed. But my views on you, on your attitude, your thoughts, who you are in general, have changed. So, yeah, when I say I know you better and trust you more than I trust my father, believe me, but I’m not saying it just to make you feel better.” His lips brushed her hair and she smiled all the more. “And I’m not saying it in hopes that I can get a piece of ass later.”
“Oh, you’re still totally horrible!” She pulled back to look at him, but she was smiling and he could see that though the hurt was still there, and he couldn’t blame her, it wasn’t as bright and he was more than willing to do anything else he could to take that away.
"Hey, I'm still a guy with needs who has an incredibly sexy fiancé, what do you expect of me?"
"Typical male." She finally pulled out of his arms turned around, seeing the jacuzzi. "Want to join me?" she asked as she nodded her head to it.
"Get changed and I'll meet you there." He had the pool and the jacuzzi done when he had the house built three years ago and this would be the second time ever that he used them. He loved it, but he didn’t have a lot of time to lounge around. And truth be told, he didn’t now either, but he needed to make sure Val was okay, the rest of his world was just going to have to wait until she was fast asleep. God damn, he hated the thought of leaving her arms too.
15 minutes later, he had his head leaned back on the edge of the side, his arm around her shoulders, and his eyes looking over the stars. When they came out to sit outside, she insisted that the outside lights be turned off to look at the sky. And he was thankful because it was a gorgeous night and he couldn’t remember the last time he took a moment and enjoyed the beauty of it; another reason why he lived outside the city limits. He finally tore his eyes away as he felt her shift beside him and he glanced down at her.
"What is it?" She looked up at him and he saw some struggle in her eyes but he wasn’t sure what it was. Finally, she cupped his cheek, her thumb brushing along his cheekbone for a moment before she moved her hand around to the back of his neck and pulled him down for a kiss. Hell, if she wanted to kiss him, she didn’t have to be shy about it. His other hand moved to rest on her side as he returned the kiss.
Her tongue flicked along his lips and he couldn’t recall the last time any female took the lead on a kiss, or let alone any sexual act. And he was shocked to find out how much he liked it. And when his tongue met hers, and the steam wasn’t just coming from the water, but from them as well, did she move to straddle his lap, both her arms wrapping around his neck. He wasn’t a moaner when it came to sex, he always sought out his own pleasure and very few people seemed to bring it out with their own skill, but having this woman kiss him like this, with her hips innocently rubbing against his brought out a moan rooted deep with pleasure, and he loved it.
His hands inched up her back and he tugged the string on her swimsuit top, making it come undone. Then his hands trailed along her upper back to the string at her neck and tugged that as well. He knew he could pull away and the top would float off of her but there was something slightly sexy to him to have it between them still. His hand moved to run back down her back, over her stomach, and up to brush her nipple under her top, causing her to moan this time. He grinned into the kiss as the sounds vibrated against his mouth and his hips jerked up, pressing against her.
Finally, she broke the kiss, her eyes fluttering open to stare into his. His thumb kept brushing over her nipple while his other hand traveled down her side to her hip where his fingers started working on undoing the strings there. Her quick breaths fanned across his lips and he wanted to feel them back on his.
"Is it always like this?"
"Is what always like what, Val?" He knew what she was asking but he wanted to hear her speak it out loud.
"Kissing; is it always going to be this passionate? Will it always turn me on?"
"If I'm good at my job, yes. It helps that you and I have a very high attraction to each other." His hands moved to undo the other side of her strings. "And with that comes a need to want to please and to be pleased. Your body is aching right?" He moved her bikini bottoms aside while his hand pressed against her pussy and she gasped. He just wasn’t sure if it was from shock at having realized what he had done or because she really was aching there. He rubbed her clit and she groaned.
"Y..y..es...," she stammered out and he nodded. He took her hand and put it on his hard dick.
