“I’m Gigi.” I hesitate. “We met at the Alpha Bet bar.”
If anything, his gaze grows colder. “I remember.”
When he says nothing more, I forge on. “I hadn’t meant… to interrupt you and Ronin.”
Now he gives a short laugh and looks away. “Whatever.”
“I didn’t know either of you would be there. I mean, I had hopedyouwould be.”
“You did?” Surprise flits over his face, brightening his eyes. But it quickly fades. “You were there for Ronin.”
“I swear I didn’t know he was there.”
“But then you left with him, not me.”
“I thought you were his boyfriend!”
“Well, he cleared that up fast, didn’t he?”
I grimace. “You’re the one who walked away.”
“Oh, it’s my fault now, is it?” His hands have curled into fists. “I was supposed to stay and stand between you and him, claim him?”
“You know what?” I glare at him. “Yeah, I went to the bar hoping to meet you. I wanted to get to know you. But yeah, I also do like Ron. I’ve known him for a while. I didn’t rip him away from you, I simply walked away myself. So I don’t see why you’re so mad at me.”
Grey sighs. Rubs a hand over his face. “I’m not mad at you,” he mutters. “I just don’t feel like fucking talking about it.”
“I mean, I’m not the one who mentioned a threesome,” I mutter back.
“Threesome?” His hand drops to his side and his eyes almost bug out of their sockets. “What?”
“I know, right? We’re betas, you and me. But Ronin said?—”
“Ronin said that?”
I grind my teeth. “If you’d let me finish, I’d have told you that?—”
“Ronin went after you and then he suggested a threesome with me?”
“Yes!”
He frowns. “This makes no sense. He went after you. He spent the night with you, by my guess.”
“Well. Part of it.”
He blinks. “Right, so… why bring me into the equation?”
“Because I want you?” Heat rushes up my neck. “And Ronin wants you, too?”
He snorts. “I’m a convenience to Ronin, if he didn’t tell you that. I still don’t get it. I mean, you went to his place, right?”
“Oh, sure. I mean.” I shrug. “I’m Ronin’s roommate.”
“The hell?” He stares at me.
“He never talks about me when you visit, huh?”
“You don’t get it. I’ve never been invited to his place. That tells you what sort of relationship we had. Past tense. He’s all yours now, so if you’ll excuse me, I have places to be.”
