Nothing is as life changing as those two pink lines, especially when getting pregnant wasn’t on your life itinerary.

Darcy Adler has always felt like the black sheep of her family. Her siblings were outgoing, successful, literally saving lives, while she was a personal trainer who would rather be at home eating ice cream, her nose buried in a smutty romance novel. She was a lot of things, but mother material? Not so much. And there was another problem— the dad could be one of two guys: a recently engaged lawyer, or Archer Mack.

Archer moved to Gettysburg, PA to get a fresh start away from his past. Most of his days were spent at the firehouse, whether he was working or not, because he had his sights set on the Lieutenant position. When the fire chief tells Archer he wants him for the job, it’s almost too good to be true. And that’s because it is. There’s a catch: he needs to prove he has a life outside of fighting fires to get it.

With Darcy not wanting to be the family screw up yet again, and Archer desperate to get the promotion of his dreams, the two agree to a plan. Fake date long enough for Darcy’s pregnancy to not seem like another one of her mistakes, and for Archer to get promoted.

But as the two are forced together, truths are revealed, and faking it until they make it gets a lot more complicated.
