“I think he is,” Caden said, smiling.
“Oh, look at that smile,” Zoe said. “You’re really happy about it?”
“I love Linc and Summer,” he said. “Why wouldn’t I love another baby?”
“You better hope Yeo figures it out soon,” Zoe said. “I don’t know how long I can sit on this information.”
Caden got up. “I have to get going. I need to finish a chapter today to stay on track.”
“Don’t ignore me, Caden,” Zoe said.
He ignored her and went into the bookstore. Yeo was still banished to the apartment. He probably wasn’t contagious anymore, but Amy didn’t want to take chances. He had given her breaks during the day and closed in the evenings.
“Ms. Amy, do you need anything before I go check on Yeo,” Caden asked.
“Nope,” she said. “I’ll text you if I need a break. Are the kids coming home tonight?”
“Yes. Bennett is bringing Linc by in a few hours. Summer will be home after school.” Caden was nervous as hell. They didn’t know that he moved in. He hoped they didn’t mind. He left Amy and went upstairs. Yeo lay stretched out on the couch watching Ellen. His head lay in a massive pile of pillows, and all three pets were cuddling with him.
“Hey, handsome,” Yeo said, smiling at him. “How was your morning? Are you going to get to work?”
Caden grinned. “Yes, I am.” He picked up his laptop and sat in one of the arm chairs. “I’ll just work right here.”
“Caden,” Yeo wailed. “Tell me!”
“You’ve looked at my book collection, right?”
“Yes,” Yeo said. “You have excellent taste in romance novels.”
“I’m a writer,” Caden said.
Yeo sat up, dislodging Huckleberry from his chest. “You’re a writer? Are you published? Do you have a pen name? You write romance, don’t you?”
“I am published. I do write romance. My pen name is…” Caden began, but was interrupted.
“Roxanne Baxter,” Yeo said, clapping. “That’s why your dad bought all those books.”
“Yes,” Caden said. “There you have it. My dirty secret.”
“Does this mean that I’ll get to read your books early?”
“No,” Caden said.
Yeo shot him a dirty look. “You said you loved me.”
“You can read them when they come out just like everyone else,” he said. He got up and kissed Yeo’s scowl away. “I do love you, angel.”
“Fine,” Yeo said, sinking back into the couch. “Will you make something yummy for dinner tonight?”
“Sure. We might get interrupted, though. Apparently my brother’s friends think Carter and I have issues so they’re going to try to force us to talk.”
“Good,” Yeo said. “You two circle around each other like two tomcats. It’s weird.” He made a face. “Not that I’m any expert on family.” Someone pounded on the front door. “It’s a little early for your intervention, isn’t it?”
Caden opened the door to find Justin, Grey, Abel, Bennett, and Linc on his doorstep. “Daddy,” Linc called, holding out his arms to Caden. Everyone stared at the little boy. “Daddy,” he said again. His tone left no doubt that he wanted Caden right that second. Caden took him from Bennett and hugged him tight, tears in his eyes.
“Yeo! Linc called me daddy,” Caden said, running to his omega.
“Aww,” Yeo said. “Smart boy.” He held his arms out. “Did you miss me, baby?”
