“It was so awesome! There are horses and cows and dogs and ....” his voice drifts off as if someone unplugged him.
“No mom. No please.” He begs.
At first I don’t understand the change but then I look, following his eyes and see the bags I left by the door.
“No baby,” I reassure him. “We aren’t going anywhere, yet. I just needed to go through some things.”
Instead of answering he gives me a look of pure heartbreak and slips away to his room. Even cooking his favorite dinner didn’t lure him out the rest of the night.
Being beaten, raped and drugged never made me feel as low as sitting at the kitchen table eating meatloaf alone while listening to the sound of my son crying through his closed door.
I can’t help but wish Ringo was here as I toss and turn all night but I knew he had to do something with his club after dropping Remmy home.
It’s just after six in the morning when my cell phone rings and Bella asks me to come in. “I know you were supposed to be off today, but my mom isn’t feeling well. She’ll work your shift tomorrow if you can cover her for today.” She explains.
With no hesitation I take it. Not only because we need the money in case we have to flee but also because Remmy and I both need a distraction.
Work is distracting while the cafe is busy but when it’s slow I can't help but look over to my son sitting in the corner.
He isn’t even playing his game. He just sits there staring out the window. I know that Bella has picked up on it, she keeps slipping him treats when she doesn’t think I’m looking.
It’s midafternoon when I see Remmy sit up straight, something getting his attention.
I turn to see what he’s looking at when my heart catches in my throat. I swear everytime I see that man my panties melt. Ringo walks in the door looking like sex on a stick.
Ringo
Walking in the door, Kimmie is standing next to a table with a look that shoots straight to my cock. I know she likes what she sees but can I get her to like me as a whole?
“I wasn’t expecting you. Is everything okay?” She asks.
I nod, offering her what I hope is a warm smile. “Yeah, everything’s fine. I just... I wanted to see if you’d like to go out with me tonight. Dinner, maybe?”
She blinks, clearly caught off guard by my invitation. “I don’t know... It’s been a long week, and with Remmy...”
Before she can finish, a voice interrupts from the table. “Dinner? Are you going on a date, Mom?”
Remmy looks up at both of us, his eyes wide with excitement. He’s clearly intrigued by the idea. Kimmie hesitates, glancing down at her son. “Remmy, it’s not...”
“Mom! Justice invited me to sleep over at their house tonight!” he interrupts, his voice bubbling with enthusiasm. “Can I go? Please?”
Kimmie’s resolve begins to waver as she looks at his eager face. I know that he didn’t often get the chance to spend time with other kids, and she knew how much this meant to him at this very moment. She glances back at me as I wait quietly to see what she decides.
“I don’t know...” She starts yet again, but the way Remmy’s face lit up at the prospect of the sleepover seems to be making the decision for her. “Alright,” she finally relents, sighing softly. “You can go, but you have to be on your best behavior.”
He practically jumps in his chair with excitement. “Yes! Thanks, Mom! You should go on your date, too! It’ll be fun!”
We both smile at her son’s enthusiasm. “We’ll see,” she says, giving him a playful ruffle of his hair.
Stepping forward, my smile widening. “I promise it’ll be a nice, relaxing evening. Nothing too fancy, just some good food and a chance to unwind.”
She looks between Remmy and I, her decision still hanging in the air.
“Alright,” she says finally, a small smile tugging at her lips. “I’ll go. But you’re going to owe me a night at home with a movie and popcorn after this.”
I chuckle, relief washing over me that she didn’t turn me down flat. “Deal. I’ll pick you up at seven?”
She nods, the uncertainty still within her beautiful eyes. “Seven sounds good.”
