Every sensation around her—sound, touch and taste—erased every disgusting memory of Ely’s hands on her.

Isaiah wrapped an arm around her middle, pulling her onto him and freeing his brother’s mouth. “Fucking shit,” he panted.

With her heart still racing, she collapsed into his touch.

“What the fuck was that?” Asher gasped for air, but it didn’t sound like a complaint.

Velora could only shrug. She was far too dizzy from her post orgasmic haze to form silly things like words.

Asher rolled onto his stomach and pushed himself to his knees. “That was amazing,” he beamed, kissing her forehead before he stood and disappeared into her bathroom.

She couldn’t help but return a lazy smile.

Isaiah held her as Asher returned with two wet cloths and a new shirt for her. His own soiled t-shirt had been discarded. Isaiah gently wiped the sweat off her forehead and cooled her neck with one of the cloths while Asher cleaned her between her thighs.

“How about we tuck you in to get some sleep?” Isaiah suggested.

“Will you let us cuddle with you?” Asher asked. “We promise to be gone when you wake up.”

She nodded her approval, and they guided her to the bed, positioning her between the two of them. Asher massaged her scalp while Isaiah traced lazy circles over her hip, lulling her into a calm sleep.

Chapter Thirty-Six

Velora

The next morning, Velora woke up drained. From what, she wasn’t exactly sure. It was hard to pinpoint just one thing. All she could think of was getting away. From the twins, from Ely—from all of it. She pushed out of bed and rushed to pack a bag before going downstairs, surprised to see Asher behind the desk instead of Isaiah.

“Don’t look so confused,” he chuckled. Though as he looked up and took in the bag on her shoulder, his smile faded. He stood and rounded the desk. “Another hike?”

“I need some time.”

“To yourself?” he asked, stopping before her.

“Yes.”

He cupped her jaw and ran his thumb over her cheek. “This isn’t just for a day, is it?”

Velora was relieved she wouldn’t have to explain herself further. “I want to go to one of the cabins.”

Asher sighed, clearly wishing he could change her mind.

“I know about the rogues. I’ll be careful, I just can’t stay here.”

“Promise to stay within the border?”

“Promise.”

He leaned down and rested his forehead against hers. “Come back, okay?”

“I will.”

“At least let me give you breakfast and pack some food for you.”

“Okay.”

Once she sat at the counter with her breakfast, Asher bustled around the kitchen, packing a bag with some non-perishable food.

Before she could leave, he surprised her by pulling her into a hug. “Please come back to us.”
