His grin reminded me of the boy I fell head over heels in love with so long ago. My feelings never changed; they just grew stronger with every encounter. How could they not when he did nothing but save and protect me?
“Maybe you should start obeying me?” He bounced his eyebrows at me playfully.
I rolled my eyes at him. “And what would that entail?”
The pupils of his eyes glowed golden and the salacious smile that turned his lips up was enough to make a pulse beat at the apex of my thighs and my panties to get wet. He had me pinned to the bed in a second, his lips kissing the side of my throat.
“I love that you’re strong and independent, but in this room, your pleasure is mine alone to give. If I tell you I want you on your hands and knees in submission, then I expect to see that sexy vamp ass in the air.”
I wiggled under him until I could curve my leg around his waist, grinding him against me. Freeing my hands, I trailed them through his unruly hair, tugging him down until our lips almost touched.
“And what if I want to be in control?” I asked, pressing a light kiss on his full lips.
His stare bored deep into me. “You’ve controlled me for ten years, Tasha. Everything I’ve done is so you can have the happily ever after you used to talk about while we stargazed.” His lips grazed mine. “I have no problem letting you control me in the bedroom.”
The temptation of his mouth so close to mine was impossible to resist, so I gave in and kissed him until nothing else existed but the two of us. His powerful aura enfolded me in his strength and protection. My nerve endings all screamed his name as his fingers traced over me, leaving goosebumps in their wake. Desire unfurled deep in my stomach and snaked through my veins. Every breath was shared with Levi, every touch fanning the flames of need deep in my core.
He wrapped me in his embrace, our auras infusing together. I was content to lie in his arms and kiss him until we were both breathless. I’d missed his affection and his deep drugging kisses. We’d spent hours like this in the past and it was only when I experienced it again that I knew what was missing from my life.
My fangs scraped his lip, releasing that delicious flavour that was uniquely Levi.
“You gonna bite me again?” he teased, sucking my bottom lip into his mouth.
“Hmmm…” I pushed him onto his back, flashing my fangs. “You did lock me in here without any food last night.”
He pricked his thumb on my fang and smeared the blood over my lip. “Those fangs were made to sink into my neck, not a bag.”
I leaned forward, keeping eye contact with him. My claws tore open his T-shirt to expose his chest to me. My fangs scraped over his nipple before I sunk them into his flesh and sucked. Levi’s eyes rolled back in his head and he groaned, his hip bucking under mine.
There was a feral creature that lurked inside me that demanded I keep biting him until I marked him as belonging to me. My tongue traced up his chest and flicked the pulse at the side of his throat.
“Do it,” he said in that deep husky tone that made my stomach tighten.
My fangs sunk in and I gulped his essence into me. Dark and dangerous with a hint of wildness. Nothing compared to the taste of Levi. When I had taken enough, I licked the wound closed.
A siren sounded through the complex and the white light above changed to an emergency red light.
Levi pushed himself up onto his elbows. “Fuck!”
My forehead pressed to his. “What’s going on?
His eyes closed and his hands grasped my hips. “The hellspawn have found us.”
My hands itched and the hairs on the back of my neck stood to attention.
“The master,” I whispered in horror.
Levi’s hands cupped my face. “You’re mine, Tasha. No one and nothing will ever take you from me ever again.”
His lips smashed into mine in ownership. I clung to him and kissed him back as if he was the air I needed to survive.
The siren pulsed overhead, summoning everyone to action. We broke apart and began to get ready for battle. We still hadn’t retrieved any catsuits, so everyone on the base were dressed in black combat trousers and T-shirts. Blasters were strapped to my legs and the pockets were filled with daggers.
Levi jumped onto a wooden pallet in the hallway, overlooking everyone who’d gathered. “We all know what’s out there. I don’t care how you kill them but hit anything that moves hard and fast. Nothing survives without a head, not even hellspawn. Stay safe and come home.”
Vampires were normally sent to war with a false smile and a weak wave from our coven leader. Levi made me feel proud to fight at his side.
“Radar, activate the ultraviolet lights,” Levi shouted, and his commander nodded before typing on a control panel.
