[If any warrior or hunter bothers me, you will spend some time in the infirmary,] I decide to add, before shutting off the pack link. Leaving the central part of the pack territory, I follow the small footpath through a clearing, towards the other side of the territory where my cottage is. The sun is warm on my skin, the air filled with the scent of wildflowers. I might go into town later and grab some supplies, to paint the day away tomorrow with how beautiful the clearing is.
Reaching the forest, I follow the familiar path along a creek toward my cottage, spying my lilac bush before I reach the front door. Suddenly, the birds stop chirping and the forest around me grows silent. Feeling a sense of danger, I turn to face the path I just came down only to be slammed against the sturdy door of my cottage. Before I can fight back, a needle is driven into my neck, and I am injected with some unknown liquid. My body quickly becomes heavy, and my vision starts to blur. Every part of me feels weak, and that’s when I realize what was injected into me. Wolfsbane. Opening the pack link once more, I feelmyself slowly falling into unconsciousness. With the last bit of my strength, I reach out to the link and send one message before darkness takes over.
[At cottage. Help me.]

Jordan
Sitting in my vehicle, I wait patiently for my men to deliver me what I want. Coming to Ivory Fangs was not a waste, even if I lost land and money. Instead, I gained a woman who would become a fitting Luna. Kaylee Kingsley is not my goddess-given mate, but she is a she-wolf any man would desire. With care for her people and a quick wit, Kaylee is certainly someone who will grow a pack.
Staring at my phone while I wait, I read over that idiot’s confession once more. I knew that Alpha of Oak Fur was a fool like my father, but to think he would force his pup to reject Kaylee is something only someone mentally deranged would do. Yes, Marilyn Cross comes with the backing of Blood Oath, but that is nothing compared to the power Kaylee possesses.
“Alpha Jordan, they are here,” my driver calls out to me, a smile in his tone. I smile too, as I wait for my delivery. Soonthe passenger door opens, and I turn to watch Viktor carefully slide Kaylee’s unconscious body onto the seat beside me. With full, luscious lips, a perfectly toned body, and wide eyes that are closed as she dreams, I can’t imagine what Lucas was thinking.
“Good job. Make sure Titus doesn’t catch wind of this until Kaylee bears my mark on her neck,” I warn my men. They bow respectfully, before returning to their own vehicles. My beta, Titus, should still be passed out from last night’s party. I had Viktor put a sleeping drug into his coffee just as we took off, ordering my men to pull over just outside the Ivory Fangs’ borders. I was not leaving without Kaylee. Every part of her perky body demands to be claimed and possessed, and I am just the man for it.
“You will be my perfect Luna,” I whisper, placing my phone in my pocket before I carefully scoop the unconscious woman into my arms. She is lighter than I thought she would be, but I have seen just how nimble her body is, with how she danced at the party last night and even before that, during her training sessions. Fast, strong, beautiful, and a body any wolf would want to carry his pups.
“Let’s head home,” I order my driver, running my fingers through her silky blonde hair. She mumbles something in her sleep but it is inaudible, and I chuckle. Just what does my little prize dream about?
The drive to the pack will last two days, meaning I have two days to roam her body with my hands while I wait to claim her. I know Titus will be furious at me for taking Kaylee the way I did, but he will get over it eventually. That idiot thinks a pack should be run with emotions, but I know better. Emotions get people killed.Running a pack with an iron fist will make them stronger, but also cause unrest—and this is why I need a Luna.
Titus and Daisy make a great beta pair. They are the friendly ones in Shadow Moon, the ones our packmates go to with concerns. With them bringing some warmth to the pack, it makes it easier to rule as alpha after I killed my father for the title. That man was a fool for thinking he could get away with an attack on Silver Paw. The council was soon on our doorstep, citing fines and taking back the land he acquired in the attack, stating that it still belongs to Silver Paw until they turn rogue.
You could imagine his surprise when he heard a she-wolf became alpha and was planning another attack, this time planning to murder this new alpha’s mate and forcing her to become his to gain the land. I knew then that I had to kill him if we were to broker some sort of peace between this new alpha and Shadow Moon. And I was right in doing so.
“What will you do when you return home, Alpha?” my driver asks, causing me to look up. Our eyes meet, with his gaze reflected in the rearview mirror. I see the approval of what I have done and feel relieved. I know I can trust Viktor and his brother Glen, but my driver is a wolf I brought from the weakest of my warriors. If he can keep this secret, then I will learn his name and promote him.
“Work on taming this she-wolf in my arms, of course,” I answer, looking down once more at Kaylee. Her lips are parted now, and I can’t help but gently run my thumb across them. She will have to be dosed with wolfsbane, as I know that she will fight tooth and nail until she submits to me, but that is okay. Sooner or later, she will be marked, mated, and begging me to make loveto her. All she-wolves are like that once you’ve shown them what it’s like to be with a true wolf.
“Make sure to go easy on her. After observing Miss Kingsley the last five days, I have noticed she is very perceptive,” my driver warns. I chuckle, my eyes never leaving her sleeping face. Just how sweet would those lips taste, I wonder?
“Trust me, I know,” I muse, slowly dipping my head and pressing my lips to hers. They taste like cinnamon sugar. Sweet and spicy, like the she-wolf herself. Pulling away, I hug her closer to me and lean my head back against the headrest. Two days, and then I can start bending her into submission. I wonder how she will fight back. Will she punch and scream? Break a window and try to escape? Most importantly, I wonder what sounds will come from her mouth when she accepts she is mine, and allows me to mate her. How will her voice sound in the throes of ecstasy?
“I wouldn’t have taken her if she was easy to tame,” I finally continue, my driver laughing at this statement. Whether Kaylee likes it or not, she will be mine.

Lucas
Following the GPS route, I turn off of the smooth road onto a rough gravel path. On all sides of the vehicle is the dense forest that Ivory Fangs is located in, and I am excited to get to know everyone here before leaving to find Kaylee. The drive is slow, but it is because of the many wolves running alongside us. Even from the driver's seat, I can tell something has happened to make them all look at me with hostility.
“Edison,” I call out to the man in the back, who looks at his tablet with a frown.
“What is it, Lucas?” he answers back without looking up, an edge of iciness to his tone. I try not to growl, as yesterday morning his neutrality towards me changed and no one on Ivory Fangs’ side could explain why.
“Something happened, didn’t it.” It’s a statement, not a question. I was raised to lead a pack, so I know when a pack is dealing with a problem. It’s instinct at this point. Silence passes, and I look back using the rearview mirror to see Edison studying me. I watch as he wages a war inside his mind, probably debating whether or not to tell me the truth. I catch Simon watching us with questions of his own swirling in his eyes. Even with how close he is to the Ivory Fangs wolves, they iced him out too, and kept him at bay.
“Something did happen. You will find out as soon as we make it to the pack house,” he finally answers. I nod and return my focus to following the van in front of me. They have been leading the way since we left our stop at a motel last night, with my vehicle sandwiched between the charter bus and the van in front. It’s as if they are trying to keep me in sight at all times.
The forest finally gives way, and in front of me stand houses and various utility buildings spread out in the large, cleared space. From what Simon and Edison told me the day Ivory Fangs picked us up, these thirty buildings are just a small amount of what makes up the pack. There are training grounds that have been built, a pack infirmary, and a few greenhouses in the works, as well as various houses and cottages dotted between the forest and the border. Those that live here at the heart of the territory are omegas and lesser warriors and hunters. Some of these people even make the thirty-minute drive to the closest town, where they work and integrate with humans to add value to the pack, like working at a bank or a clothing store.
“See that mansion on the hill, by the willow?” Edison asks, pointing to the large mansion that has seen recent repairs.
“Yeah. Is that the pack house?” I ask, watching as wolves stop what they are doing to watch us. I notice a few Oak Fur wolves that have integrated into Ivory Fangs and smile when I see how healthy they look. Many were thin and frail, due to the way Ramos and Marilyn treated them. I am happy to know that Ivory Fangs took good care of them, and even sense that a few have grown stronger in the few weeks they have been here.
“We are going to park in front there so that the alpha and Luan can meet you,” Edison continues, a smile on his face as he watches his pack pass by.
