Black Star Diamond

A Sci-Fi Futuristic Alien Adventure

Marteeka Karland

Chapter One

“So, what does a vampire do when he can’t get blood or sex, hum?”

Of all the situations Diamond expected to find herself in after escaping the Hand of God on Graves Station and the explosion outside theBlack Star, being vampire fodder was the last. She should have expected it, but she’d done her best to steer clear of Viktor and hadn’t realized how far gone he was. Now, it might be too late to salvage his sanity. Or his life. Still, she owed it to the people of theBlack Starand theSword Breaker-- including Viktor -- to do what she could. Without them, she’d still be on that hellhole of a space station. Or dead. Yes. She’d help Viktor even if it meant her very life. She owed it to him.

Viktor was apparently deep in a blood lust caused by denying himself all the pleasures of the flesh vampires were meant to indulge in. Diamond would bet her life he hadn’t had blood or sex in many standard months, far longer than any vampire could safely endure.

“You have exactly two heartbeats to get the hell out of here.” Viktor’s voice was husky, gravelly. Deadly. His eyes glowed red in a blood rage she’d never seen the like of. If she didn’t do as he asked -- even giving her the option of flight had to have represented the last of his control -- he would very likely kill her. A vampire in the grip of this kind of torture was never a gentle lover. They were as vicious in taking blood as they were in taking their pleasure. Often, their chosen prey didn’t survive. It was why vampires rarely mated outside their own species. It was why Captain Singh was making all possible speed to Viktor’s home world.

“I can’t, Viktor.” She gave him a smile she suspected looked suspiciously like a sneer. “If I don’t help you, I’m damned to the seventh pit of hell.”

“What makes you think a puny human like you could possibly help me?” Spit flew from his mouth as he barked his reply. His disgust was clear. It was obvious he wanted nothing to do with humans on this subject.

“Nothing. Only that you need blood and sex. If you don’t, you’re dead.”

He hissed. “You know nothing!” He slashed a hand through the air in an animated gesture. “Not having blood or sex won’t kill me, only drive me insane. I can’t be sure it hasn’t already. You should leave before I drain you dry, human.” The last word was said with more contempt than even men with the Hand of God had ever used in reference to her. He said it like she was so far beneath him, he’d as soon squash her like a bug instead of have to converse with her.

She bared her teeth to him. A show of contempt, herself. “Perhaps being deprived of the two things vampires crave more than anything else won’t actually be your death, but if you go mad and start killing, the captain will be forced to terminate you. I seriously doubt even a vampire of your stature could withstand the entire ship’s complement, not to mention theBlack Starherself.”

He tilted his head, and the light in his eyes dimmed minutely. “What do you know of theBlack Star?” Apparently, his curiosity stemmed the madness for a while.

“Only what Phoebe told me. That the ship is sentient, and that you’ve formed a link with her. I also know that Phoebe and I have some kind of tracking device implanted deep inside our brains that theBlack Staris trying to devise a way to remove.”

Viktor’s eyes flashed once before dimming again. “For someone facing either major brain surgery or more encounters with a cult group like the Hand of God, you don’t sound too worried.”

“Of course not.” She sniffed. “I’d welcome the chance to kill more of those bastards. As to the other --” She shrugged. “-- whatever is meant to be will be. It made my decision to confront you all the easier. If I’m going to die --” She got up on her knees on the bed where she’d been waiting for him and unzipped her uniform all the way down to a few inches below her navel and shrugged out of it completely. “-- I’ll damned well choose how. And I guarantee it won’t have anything to do with those sons of bitches in the Hand of God.”

When Viktor’s eyes glowed blood red with lust and the need for blood once more, Diamond sat back on the bed with her legs spread. She watched him carefully as his chest heaved and he clenched his fists with the effort to hold himself back. Picking up the tube of lubrigel lying on the table by the bed, she shoved the tip inside her cunt and squeezed. “Well? I’m not leaving. Come fuck me.”

With a roar that made her ears ring, Viktor tackled her.

She bit back a yelp by sheer force of will and barely had time to feel a twinge of fear before he covered her body with his and plunged into her core. She did scream then. Not only was she not ready for such an invasion -- a mistake on her part as she’d known he wouldn’t be in any shape for foreplay and she’d had only very few sexual encounters with men in the past -- but his cock was simply huge. The pain was so intense she saw stars, and would have passed out if she’d been in any other position besides flat on her back. She wouldn’t be too damaged, but she’d definitely be very sore later. Not that she’d expected anything different.

Viktor pounded into her with deep, rapid strokes. Each stroke brought more pain, and she had to bite her lip to keep from crying out again. His grunts and snarls filled the room, providing a violent soundtrack for the primitive act. She caught sight of them in the reflection from the window, which overlooked a vast starfield. The sight of Viktor driving into her body over and over was suddenly the most erotic thing she’d ever seen.

What was once only pain became a pleasure in itself. Had the pain not been there, the pleasure wouldn’t have been nearly as intense. She gripped his back and dug her nails into his flesh as she cried out, digging her heels into his ass and urging him on. It was totally insane.

Diamond was on the verge of a powerful climax when Viktor sank his fangs into her neck. She screamed again, this time in pain. There was nothing pleasurable about it now. She tried to push him away, but he held her fast. Diamond could feel the sucking pressure on her neck and knew he was drinking his fill. If she wasn’t able to stop him, he would kill her. No matter how unintentional. At this point, Viktor was simply beyond realizing what he was doing.

Over and over he thrust into her while pulling at the life-giving blood he so desperately needed. He continued until, with one mighty thrust, he came deep inside her cunt. His seed was hot. Painfully so. It was probably the burning of his blood. She’d been told about the Blood Burning in vampires. The only other vampire she’d met said every body fluid, every piece of his flesh, would be at least six degrees above normal. To anyone but a vampire, that degree of body temp change could be deadly. Vampires, it merely drove insane.

With another shout of fury, Viktor pushed himself away from her slightly -- enough to be able to look her squarely in the face and gauge her reaction, but not far enough that she could escape him. Blood stained his mouth and chin, making him look incredibly grotesque. She could feel the blood trickling from her neck. The sleepy feeling trying to overwhelm her told her he’d taken more than she could afford to give.

“You’re not quite human, little jewel.” It was a growled accusation. Like it offended him -- not that she wasn’t completely human, but because of what it took to make her that way. “Who has touched you?” he shouted at her, a manic, almost hysterical look in his eye.

The room spun, but she knew she had to respond. In this state, any resistance on her part, no matter how unintentional, would be met with deadly force. “I -- a vampire on Graves Station. He saved my life and made me swear I’d do the same to anyone of his kind if I were ever in the position to do so. In order for me to live, he had to change me. He made me a perfect vampire blood slave. I have enough vampire blood in me to keep me alive through almost any injury except extreme blood loss, and I never get sick, but I’m human enough to have enough nutrients in my blood to sustain a vampire in lieu of an actual kill. Unless, that is, you take too much.”

“And you have aspirations of being my salvation?” His husky voice was calmer now, though she still could see the barely controlled hunger in his eyes.

“Honestly? I could give a damn about your salvation.” She struggled to keep her voice neutral. He couldn’t know the agony he’d caused her or he’d try to suppress himself again, and someone could get killed. “I’m fulfilling a promise I made to someone in exchange for my life. If I get you through this, I’ll have paid my debt.” He sagged, his eyes becoming droopy. Good. He had drunk his fill this time and not killed her. She might make it through this yet. It all depended on how long he had to keep it up before his Blood Burning passed.

She pushed him off her, and he rolled to his back on the bed. “Don’t be here when I wake, Diamond.” And he promptly fell asleep.
