“Reaper,” he growls, as he clearly gets impatient with me.

“I might have just killed Abruzzo’s son in the parking lot.”

My gaze moves to my brother, as I stare at the shock on his face.

“Why?”

I shrug like I don’t know, even though I really do.

“He took my parking spot.”

“Jesus Christ, Reaper. You’re starting a mafia war over a parking spot?”

CHAPTER NINE

BELLA

I already sit terrified when I hear the motorcycle rumbling but then it suddenly stops. Taking a deep breath, I attempt to prepare for whatever the hell this nutcase has planned for me next.

“Honey, I’m home!” he yells as he walks up the stairs.

He enters the room, and I stare at the glass jar in his hand.

“I missed you, baby.” He grins with a psychotic look on his face.

Reaper steps closer to me and leans over me, holding the jar in front of my face.

“You see, living dead girl, I think you were bluffing before. I thought to myself, would she really rather have spiders crawling on her, than to have my dick inside her? Then I realized, there’s only one way to find out.”

My heart pounds as he loosens the lid.

“Beg for my cock and I’ll put my friends away.”

“Nico,” I warn, as my eyes feel like they might pop out of my sockets.

Instead of looking regretful, he looks pleased with himself. He stands beside the bed with a stupid grin on his face that makes my skin crawl.

“You really do have a fear of spiders. I bet you regret telling me how much I disgust you now. Don’t you?”

Tears fall down my cheeks, but I don’t respond because I can’t breathe. Or move. I’m immobile in my state of panic, as he pulls the lid off the jar. I try to scramble backward, but there’s nowhere to go. No way for me to avoid this.

Taking a spider out, he places it on my chest as he speaks softly.

“He isn’t venomous. But that’s not where the fear comes from, is it?”

I watch in terror, my body trembling as he takes out another spider, and holds it in his hand in front of my face. The sobs are instant, but I still can’t move as much as I want to. The feeling of the first spider crawling on my skin causes panic to rise, as my body shakes uncontrollably.

He chuckles loudly. “You might want to close your lips. It would be terrible to have one crawl into your mouth.”

The sensation of the spider crawling on me, and the sight of the one in front of my face, makes me want to peel out of my skin.

“Nico.”

He runs his fingers through my hair, and leans down and swipes his tongue over the wetness on my cheeks with a groan. His hand in my hair is gentle, and it would be comforting if it were any other man. Yet with him, it’s the complete opposite of soothing.

“You know how to make this stop, baby.”

As much as I want to show him no weakness, I can’t hide my fear. It’s on display no matter what I do. And it’s exactly what he wants.
