“Too bad, I already do. So later? It’s a date,” I declared with too much pep in my voice. Instantly my eyes flew to his, verifying I hadn’t said the wrong thing.
But something weird happened.
He sort of just appeared in front of me.
Oh, I know, he probably walked but I’d swear on the altar of a deity that he just appeared because suddenly he was just there towering over me, looking all gladiatorial and sexy.
So damn sexy I lost all the feeling on my tongue.
I’d never be able to give a blow job with Sahara desert tongue.
Not that I ever had before, but it was something me and my bestie talked about. We talked about sex too much because we were both curious virgins with too much of a fertile mind.
God, I wanted to know what it felt like to have him lying on top of me.
Would his weight feel amazing when he opened my legs to lie between them?
I was a tramp in my mind and I didn’t even care.
When Ronan reached out and sort of fingered a lock of my hair I stopped breathing. He twirled it and flipped it back and forth and then tickled my nose with it.
An electric shock went right up my left arm and when Ronan next spoke his mouth was near my ear and he sounded fifty times throatier than he had.
“It’s a date, princess.”
I allowed my excitement to take flight.
Before I could process what just happened he paced across the tiled foyer, telling me he’d wait outside for daddy.
Did we just arrange a date? A realoh my god he likes medate?
I was gonna faint. I was seriously gonna faint.
I let my butt hit the stair and I sat there in somewhat of a daze for ages until I could regather myself and bound up the stairs to not only change my underwear and then call my bestie, but I had to Google how to make fajitas and nacho dip.
“What you doing sitting there, Catie-cat?” Daddy’s voice boomed. He had one level and it was loud. I smiled up at him and accepted the hug he pulled me up into.
He was the greatest guy on earth. Loud, but amazing.
“Just thinking.” About your future son in law.
“You won’t get straight A’s wool gathering. Hit the books, baby.”
I sighed. School. School. School. I couldn’t wait to be done with school.
But I was so very happy to let that ruin my mood.
“Is Ronan here?”
“Yeah, he’s waiting outside for you. Hey, daddy. What is it he does for you?”
“Little of everything, Catie-cat. He wants to learn business and the kid hounded me for months through emails until I finally agreed. He’s smart as a whip and will probably out rank your old man one day. But don’t tell the kid I said so.” He grinned and kissed my forehead.
“No one is better than you, daddy.”
He laughed and pointed a finger. “I love you, now hit the books, make me proud.”
Sadly for daddy, I spent the rest of the day with my head in the clouds, texting all kinds ofwhat if he does thisscenarios to my bestie … and destroying the kitchen with my lack of culinary skills.
