I’m not oblivious to the looks shared around the table. Littles and Daddies alike seem to be surprised and concerned that Josh is pushing this so heavily, but Josh himself just dusts off his hands on his jeans and looks around expectantly. “Well?”
“I’m already halfway there,” Ash answers him when nobody else does, swinging his legs under his chair, his sneakers scuffing over the tiled floor. “So I’m down.”
“Me too,” Tony says quietly. He wriggles in his seat. “Daddy, do I gotta wear my jeans?”
Spencer shakes his head, an indulgent smile tugging at his lips. “Nope. You’ve got your onesie on, so the jeans can come off.”
With wide, brown eyes only for his Daddy, Tony claps his hands and cheers.
“I’ll go get changed,” Zephyr declares with a bright smile. “Daddy bought me a new dress last week. It’s got rainbows on it.”
“I’ve got to get changed, too,” Matt says and pushes his chair back. “Daddy, help?”
As London and Ted take their boys inside the house, Josh beams and turns to Kate. “What about you, Kate? Are you playing?”
She nods. “Uh huh. I’m already dressed up, but I’ll get Mommy to do my pigtails.”
Josh’s attention finally shifts to me and he cocks his head. “You in?”
This last thirty seconds has been kind of overwhelming. The sudden shift in all these adults to varying degrees of Little is unlike anything I’ve been a part of before. Even at the club, by the time I’ve entered the playroom, everyone is usually in their headspaces. But to be in a private home and watch my new social circle go from adult headspaces and into little ones so easily is kind of jarring. It’s not bad, in fact it’s reassuring and sweet, but it’s new and it will take some getting used to.
I bite my lip and look up at Chance. He drops down into a squat beside the chair and smooths his hand over my hair. “If you just want to sit out and watch this time, nobody’ll mind.”
“What if…um,” I look down, twiddling my thumbs in my lap, feeling my cheeks burn. “What if I don’t wanna beLittle, but I wanna…” I cut my gaze towards the duffel bag that Chance dropped down beside Asher’s diaper bag.
It’s silly asking the question out loud when they’ve already told me that they’re cool with it. I know it is. But I’ve never been a pup around other people before. It’s still so new. At least if I chose to be little, I’ve done that in front of strangers before and I know how to behave. But as a Pup, this is entirely new territory for me and for Daddy.
“I’m sure everyone will love that side of you, too, baby,” he assures me, “no matter how you wanna show it.”
“What side?” Katie asks curiously. It’s fairly obvious that she’s been using the last minute or so to sink properly into Little space. There’s just something about the expression on her face, more open andyounger, somehow. She looks between us and then her eyes go wide with excitement. Clapping her hands together, she squeals. “Puppy?!”
“Katie,” her Mommy chides, but Chance chuckles.
“Yeah,” he says, shrugging as though my additional kink isn’t any different to the rest.
She bounces in her seat. “I wanna play with the puppy!”
“No,Iwanna play with da puppy,” Ash says from the other end of the table. He looks at me with unbridled curiosity. “Pwease?”
Suddenly, I can’t help but get a little excited myself, much like I did when it was first discussed in theory. I remind myself that a bunch of Littles might provide a whole different level of play time for Puppy Kade than Daddy can on his own. “Yeah,” I nod, decided. “Okay.”
Katie and Ash cheer and Chance pushes back to his feet to go and grab the bag with my outfit and accessories. As I move to get up and follow him, Josh gently clasps my wrist. “If it gets too much, you can safe word. Nobody’ll judge you, okay? We’re, uh,” he rubs the back of his neck after he lets my wrist go, his expression a little bashful, “a rowdy bunch of Littles.”
Josh confuses me.
Daddy says that he’s a brat, but none of our interactions have shown him to be anything other than empathetic, thoughtful, and considerate. Yeah, in the group chat he’s a bit of a shit stirrer, but it’s good natured. Maybe when he’s Little he’s naughtier, though? I wonder if I’ll notice when I’m in pup space.
Smiling at him, I thank him for the heads-up and follow after Daddy to get changed and settled into my headspace.

“Look at the puppy!” Ash cries when Daddy leads me outside on my pretty blue leash. He points in my direction and soon enough all eyes are on me.
I’m solidly in pup space, though, and the attention makes me wag my tail in anticipation of pets and play time.
Unsurprisingly, it’s Katie who first wanders over. She abandons the game of outdoor Jenga she was playing with Matt, appraising my soft golden ‘fur’ with a wide smile. She looks up at Daddy for permission before she reaches out to fondle the soft, floppy ear attached to my head, then she gently scritches my scalp with her neatly trimmed nails. I lean into the touch, whining softly for more when she stops.
She giggles and strokes the top of my head. “Is puppy Kade still called Kade?” she asks Daddy.
