“We have been waiting for this,” Pappy explained.“We already heard the rumor throughout the ex-soldier network about it.”
Shay nodded his head.“Ever since the Thorn groups started up, we saw some raw evidence of this super soldier theme off and on.”
Pappy stared at Bastian and asked, “Is it the Four Horsemen?”
Sergi and Bastain looked at each other then back at him as they nodded.
“God Damnit,” Pappy swore.“I was hoping it had been just rumors.
“We found Mr.Winter’s manifest and it is going to be a global mess,” Bastian explained.“These Horsemen and their names were in it.Conquest, War, Hunger and Death.
Millions of men, women and children will die unnecessarily unless we can stop it.And gentlemen, we have to stop this threat if we hope to survive.”
Nikoli narrowed his eyes at him.“Viktor had said that you all found something at that farmhouse and I had wondered what it was.What did you find in the manifest?”
“They plan to set up the farmers to plant poisoned corn and wheat.So when that gets into the mainstream people and animals will eat it and die,” Bastian told them.“To poison the waters in the major rivers north to south and west to east.People and animals will drink that water and die and in the midst of all the chaos.The Horsemen then will arm our enemies and allow them to come onto our shores and go from East to west and gun down anyone who objects.”
Sergi, Nikoli, Felix and Pappy all gasped.
“What the fucking hell?”Pappy growled.
“Indeed.”Sergi growled as well.“What the hell makes them think they can do something so insane?”
Bane looked at him and said, “Because they don’t think anyone will find out what their plans are and they don’t think anyone is strong enough to stop them.We took out Mr.White which may cause the rest of the group to push their timetable up, so no one finds out until it's too late.”
“We know the players.”Bastian assured them, “We just need to find a way to hit everyone at once before the chaos can start.”
Sergi nodded.“And that’s where we come in, no?”
Bastian nodded.“We were hoping you would want to help us stop this madness from happening.”He got up and went to the cabinet near the table and retrieved a stack of packets they had prepared to show them what they were up against.He passed them out and told everyone, “I’ll let you read what we found and you can tell us what you think tomorrow morning.We are working on what we hope will be a plan of action.”
“Want to help?We have no choice, Mr.Priest.This is our world too.”Sergi picked up his packet and studied the emblem on the front cover.“The Four Horsemen...”He glanced at Shay and Pappy then over at Bastian.
“They took this from the Christian bible?”Felix asked as he shook his head.
Bastian nodded.“Yes, right out of the bible no less and that’s what they call themselves.
“Perhaps God will strike them down,” Sergi suggested.
“We can hope, but actually...”Bane raised a brow at him.“We don’t have the luxury of waiting for divine intervention.”He stood from his chair and nodded at the reports they were given.“Please read what evidence we found and we’ll meet again in the morning to discuss what you’ve learned.”
“There are plenty of rooms down this hallway,” Bastian pointed.“All of them are fully stocked with anything you may need.”
James nodded as he chuckled.“We’re not aFive Starin New York but we try.”He gave Nikoli a nod.
Nikoli smiled at him.“This estate has much potential to be a five star.It is simply elegant and well built.”
“If you only knew,” Damon spoke, referring to the hidden floors and the underground they had here.
“Well, your jet was damned comfortable,” Shay stated.“That’s a real trip from Sabine Pass to Oswego.”
“Yep, so we sleep, then tomorrow, we'll have our parley on this.”Pappy nodded.“These crazy assholes need a swift ass whoopin.”
Shay agreed, “I say blow them all to hell.”
Nikoli and Sergi gave their nods of approval.
“I like that idea.”Sergi laughed.
