How perfect.
The first time I looked at her, she was above me, and she managed to steal my power. This time, it is the opposite. I hold the power, and she is at my mercy.
I no longer silence my footsteps now that it’s just us—the closed door behind me is the only barrier between us and her group.
Fauna stirs in her sleep at the sudden noise, shifting more as each step I take brings me closer to her body. Now, at the end of her nest of blankets, I stand, looming over her.
Her soft eyelashes begin to flutter. At first, they move slowly, as if she is struggling to force them open. Then, when I assume she catches a glimpse of my body, she no longer struggles to open them. No, now my little deer’s eyes are wide and unblinking. She stares at my masked face; her plump lips parted as she gapes at me.
‘You’ve been bad, little deer.’
Fauna sits up, pushing backwards until her back hits the classroom wall.
I chuckle.
There is nowhere for her to go.
‘No,’she whispers, eyes flitting behind me.‘You can’t be here.’
‘But I am, and I’m not going anywhere.’Irritation rises inside of me, and I fist my hands, focusing on the tension, allowing my fury to subside.‘You left,’I grit out through clenched teeth.
Moonlight illuminates her watery eyes, full of unshed tears.‘I had to,’she whispers.
I promised to look after her, to do anything she needed to ensure her care.
And here I am, fulfilling that promise.
I angle my pointer finger, curling it to instruct her to come towards me.
She doesn’t move, only stares at my signal. Then, hesitantly, like a scared animal, she gets to her knees and shuffles her way forward.
A grin she cannot see spreads across my face. Though the way she bites her lip suggests she can see it. The memory of her studying my expressions changing in the tunnels returns to me.
My observant little deer can read me better than I thought.
No matter how much that realisation warms something in me, softening a small part of my fury, she still needs to pay. She needs to be taught that she cannot do that ever again.
‘Was it all for nothing?’I don’t know why I ask it, surprising myself as much as her when the thought slips past my lips.
Her head shakes, but I don’t want to know her response. Fingers reaching out, I quickly thread them through her hair and pull, silencing any response she may have had.
Fauna gasps, her cheeks heating as she looks up at me with unblinking doe eyes.
Those big, beautiful eyes.
My chest rapidly rises and falls more with every second I take in her appearance. Her bed-messed hair, the way her t-shirt hangs from her shoulder, and her bare legs peep out from below. I hadn’t noticed before when I first entered, too caught up on the fact that I had finally found her. But now as I study her, the crotch of my cargo pants begins to tighten.
Fauna must read my mind because her gaze flicks down directly in front of her and precisely to where my hardening dick is. Her tongue darts out, wetting her bottom lip, following up by pulling it between her lips. Her eyes meet mine again, a silent pleading behind them.
I don’t breathe.
Silently and not taking my grip from her hair, I use my other hand to loosen my belt. We keep each other’s gaze, neither of us backing down as I work open my buckle and zipper, taking out my now painfully hard cock.
Fauna’s gaze finally leaves mine, taking in my hardened length. Just as her hands wrap around me, I let out the breath I’d been holding.
Her touch feels like paradise.
I grind my jaw, remembering why I am here and what she did. How she shed a hole right through my chest. I rip her hold from me, and I circle my grip around her wrists.
