He was going to rock out, with his cock out, if need be. Corbin wasn’t afraid.

“Yeah, and I saw some of it up close and personal. It’s an interesting place, and we had looked at the trafficking that was happening there to see if it was pertinent to our case.”

Well, for the two other detectives, that was promising. Maybe the man would be okay.

“Here’s the problem,” Kip admitted. “We’ve had three men disappear and then turn up dead. The second the remains were found, it was no longer our jurisdiction. We’re required to call in homicide,” he admitted, pointing at him. “We can’t manage the vice sting operation and an ongoing homicide operation at the same time. We know our limits.”

Holy shit!

It looked as if they were giving him a chance.

He’d bet on it.

“We need someone who has handled homicides, and who could slip into that bar to pick up where we left off. We’re not able to do it. Word on the street is that our faces have been circulated. We’re burned when it comes to UC with them. We don’t know how, but it’s too late to backtrack.”

Oh, he wanted to be UC, undercover, in the worst way, and Corbin didn’t doubt his skill. While Gene and Ethan told him how raw and dangerous that place was, he could scuff himself up enough to fit in.

“Do you think you can handle it? That place is a mess when it comes to trafficking. We just haven’t been able to tie it to our case completely. With the bodies found…we need to pass this off to people who solve homicides. We’re smart enough to know this isn’t our gig now,” Kip admitted.

Payton agreed.

“We’re in over our heads. We know drugs, we know trafficking, and we know guns. We don’t know homicides. There’s a drug connection to most things, but we haven’t beenable to get close enough to find it yet. We haven’t seen the drug yet, either.”

Oliver continued so he could make sure his detective had what he needed to start working the homicides.

“It’s a bunch of men who have gone missing. We have confirmation on three of them, since remains have turned up, Detective,” he admitted. “Reed Peterson, our ME, just ID’d the victims. They were a mess, and decayed. They were dumped in some trees, and found. You’re going to start working their homicides.”

Corbin was about to giggle in glee.

Here was his chance.

The homicides might lead him into the lion’s den, where he could prove himself.

Once.

And.

For.

All.

“Yeah, I can do that. What do you want me to do if it leads me toBull’s Biker Bar?” he asked, his fingers crossed the whole damn time. “Do you want me to figure out if the killer is hanging out there to find new victims?”

Oliver hoped to God that he wasn’t making a big mistake with this, but truth be told, Corbin was the youngest detective, and theONLYone who could pass as a patron, or possibly some young guy in that bar.

Did they want him trafficked?

No.

But he had familiarity with the place, and no other homicide detective did.

They didn’t have a lot of choice.

Plus, Corbin wasALWAYSbegging for a UC job, and it looked like he was about to get his wish. Hopefully, he could hold his own.

He clarified his job.

“You’ll need to work the homicides, but if you can find a connection toBull’s, then, you have authorization to proceed,” Oliver said. “Just make sure your ass is covered. They are hella suspicious there if Vice has been compromised. Remember they don’t like cops. If you slip up, Son, it’s a problem. It could have dire consequences.”
