Because shit rolled down hill, and his boss, the commissioner, would kick his ass if this went South.

Two Hours Later

Afternoon

District Attorney’s office

When Corbin arrived there, he was sent to Will’s office, and he knew that everyone was thinking the same thing.

He was there on business.

Only, he wasn’t. Corbin was there to talk to his boyfriend, and see him before his world went chaotic tomorrow.

After sitting with the cops, he was updated, had files, and was ready to go.

He was going undercover.

Holy shit!

Today was a good day.

With a flash of his badge, he helped his lover keep his cover regarding his sexual orientation. Will didn’t want anyone to know he was gay, and Corbin understood that in his line of work, it was easier to stay in the closet.

That was the same for him too.

When you were in a power position, people got bitchy and stupid about shit like this.

Well, the homophobes did.

The last thing he wanted was Will to be under pressure due to being in a relationship with him.

Because that’s what they had.

A full-blown relationship.

Corbin would have asked him to marry him already had Ethan and Gene not talked him down, convincing him to give it a few months.

Just.

In.

Case.

Because he trusted the two men’s judgment, he’d listened, but now, he needed to see the man he loved and give him an update.

Knocking on his door, he saw his man behind his desk, deep in concentration over some briefs that he was working on. When Will looked up at the knock, the smile appeared on his face.

And it made him so damn handsome.

God.

Corbin loved him so much that he couldn’t imagine his life without him.

“Detective,” Will said, keeping it cool.

“Can I come in, Counselor?” he asked. “I have questions regarding a case we’re both handling,” he offered, knowing the people in the hall that were milling around would hear that and buy Will some cover.
