His body pressed to mine.
My god!
Knock! Knock!
“Ms. Adams, please open the door.” His voice sounded from the other side of the door, and I felt my pulse race. I stood up, as uncoordinated as humanly possible, and did my best to calm myself.
I opened the door, hoping I didn’t look as disheveled and as affected as I truly was.
“Yes?” Dammit, my voice cracked like a pubescent schoolboy. Still, I held it together. I didn’t miss how his eyes moved over my body again. I could feel the blush spread over my cheeks. His jaw was clenched as he handed me the book.
“Read this. Take notes. And let me know when you are finished.”
I took the book from him, not knowing what to say. I simply nodded.
“Goodnight, Mr. Wellington,” I finally managed to call out as he turned to walk down the hall. He turned back slowly, the smallest of smirks upturning those tantalizing lips.
“Goodnight, Posey.”
And with that, he walked away. While I stood there completely unhinged from the simple sound of my own name on his lips. My god, this man was going to be trouble for me.
Trouble in the best way possible.
Quickly, I closed the door and jumped on my bed. I wanted to waste absolutely no time. I snuggled under the covers and looked over the cover.
The Complete Guide to BDSM
I know I had my suspicions, but here was the proof, right in front of me. He was into BDSM, kinky stuff, rough sex.
I immediately opened up the book and began to read. Within the first chapter, I had already grabbed a pad of paper and a pen to take notes. Questions flooded my mind.
I hadn’t made it through the third chapter before my eyelids grew heavy and sleep finally took over.
The morning came much faster than I had anticipated. My back ached from falling asleep reading. I looked around, confused at the bright light shining in through the windows.
I picked up my phone and glanced at the clock on the lock screen.
8:45 a.m.
Shit!
I threw back the covers and hastily found suitable clothing before throwing my wild hair into a haphazard twist at the nape of my neck. I took an extra look in the mirror to make sure I didn’t look like a complete mess and made my way downstairs to the office.
As soon as I entered the room, the tension in the air shifted. I hadn’t made it more than two steps into the room when Mr. Wellington’s loudsnaprang through the air, stopping me in my tracks.
My eyes found his.
His eyes narrowed with almost delicious intent.
“Go.”
Just one uttered word.
“Go where?” I whispered, confused.
“Back to your room.”
The tone of his voice was different. Serious and deep, commanding. A Dominant tone, from what I had managed to gather during last night’s reading.
