“Very well. Come with me.” His words may have been succinct, but his eyes were alight with excitement, his lips spread in a wide grin. I stood, taking his hand as he helped me to my feet. I had thought we would head upstairs, to one of the guest bedrooms, perhaps, but instead we made our way down the short hallway that ran towards the side of the house. I had cleaned this hallway but had only found two closets, the entrance to a garage filled with things that needed to be cleaned out, and a locked door that I assumed went down to a storm shelter or something.
Levi unlocked that locked door, which indeed led to a set of stairs. But instead of the wooden, rustic stairs of a root cellar I was expecting, they were stairs that matched the rest of the house and walls painted in the same color scheme. He led me carefully down the stairs and into a small room, much like a sitting room. There was one door off of the room, two chairs, and a small couch. On the wall were a few tasteful pieces of artwork and one very large floor to ceiling tapestry that was more of a statement piece than I would ever have expected Levi to own.
“This door here leads to my cellar,” he explained, opening the door to his left. The cellar was well stocked with canned items, root vegetables and herbs, and more. I was glad to know he was well stocked and prepared for the winter. Living away from town it had me slightly worried. He closed the door, and I looked around the small room. Somehow, this was not the room I had expected.
He took a deep breath and then reached up for the tapestry.
When he pulled it down, it revealed another door.
“This,” he stopped, taking a deep breath, almost as if to steady himself. “This is my playroom. It’s a room I built with Malachi’s help, and it’s a room no woman has ever seen.”
“No woman? Your other submissives didn’t see this?” I asked, somewhat shocked.
“Not a single one. I’ve only played with submissives at Abditory, the dungeon I told you about,” he explained with complete sincerity.
“That’s such an odd name,” I commented, more to myself than anything.
“It has a beautiful meaning, though. It means a place into which you can disappear. A hiding place. It’s quite perfect when you think about it.” I nodded in agreement, the word rolling around in my mind.
“Will I ever get to go there?” I asked honestly.
“Perhaps. But that’s a question for a much, much later date. For now, welcome to my playroom.” With that, he pulled out a set of keys from his pocket. It was then that I noticed the three padlocks on the door.
“Um, three padlocks? Should I be worried, Levi?” I asked with a chuckle that was half humor and half nervous energy.
“No, this was Malachi’s idea. I may have been overly worried that you would find this room and not knowing you, and how things were and —” I placed my hand on his arm, halting his words.
“I understand,” I stated, letting him know that all of that didn’t matter anymore.
He unlocked the locks and opened the door, leading me into a large room. The room was easily the size of the dining room, the kitchen, and the living room combined. The walls were painted deep green with gold accents. It was luscious and gave off a sophisticated and sensual atmosphere. Overall, I wasn’t sure what I was expecting. From how he had described things, I suppose I thought it would look like a torture chamber, or something out of some nightmare turned fantasy. In reality, it looked at least similar to an overly sized and opulent bedroom.
There was a bed at one end of the room; a beautiful four-poster bed with beautiful woodwork. I had a feeling Malachi had helped make that piece, based on what Levi had told me about him. There was a couch along another wall, and beautiful dressers scattered in the room. The only thing that was strange about the room was the large x in one corner, and a wooden chair that looked odd.
“Well?” Levi asked, and I realized I hadn’t spoken for a long moment.
“It’s a beautiful room,” I answered calmly.
“But…” he led. I resisted the urge to roll my eyes at the way he could read me so well after the short time we had been married.
“I guess it’s not what I had expected,” I answered honestly.
“In what way?”
“Well, I guess I was thinking it would be more… sexual? I’m not sure. IT’s a beautiful room, beautifully decorated. But it’s not as…” I trailed off, looking for the right word.
“Sordid? Sinister?” he offered with a knowing grin. I nodded in agreement.
“I suppose so, yes.” His eyes narrowed with a delicious grin.
“Just you wait, lovely one. Come. Let me show you.” I followed him deeper into the room and he began telling me about all of this room’s hidden treasures.
“These dressers are each filled with items to be used in this room. For instance, this one has restraints and rope, while the one over there is filled with insertables,” he explained.
“Insertables? What is that?” His eyes looked my body up and down slowly before he answered.
“Go look for yourself.” I walked across the room, opening the top drawer of the dresser to find a foam insert lining the drawer. There was a space carved out in the foam, several of them. One for each item. I blushed as I realized what the items were. They were various small plugs that, from his conversations about his journey into kink, could only go in one place. I gulped, my mouth suddenly dry.
“My favorite are the jeweled ones, here. They make such a pretty thing to look at when bent over the bed and sliding into a woman. A pretty gem, indeed.” His words heated me, and I felt myself clench in response. Jeweled plugs to go in… I could barely even think the thought. And yet, I was more aroused than I think I ever had been.
