Knock! Knock! Knock!
“Go get the door, you doofus,” I giggled, pushing him away.
“Fine, fine,” he conceded, but not before he stole a kiss from my lips, leaving me laying against the covers, panting and smiling like a loon. I heard the girls’ voices downstairs and resigned myself to getting dressed. I found a dress quickly, donning it over my underwear and quickly braiding my hair. It wasn’t perfect, but it would have to do.
Halfway down the staircase, I was bombarded by voices.
“Naomi! Hi!” Delilah’s voice rang out from the living room.
“Naomi!” Ruth greeted. The girls were all sitting on the couch, waiting for me to join them. I stepped off the staircase, my toe catching as I began to fall. Gideon’s arms caught me in a dip-like fashion. He shot me his signature, up-to-no-good grin.
“Looks like I swept you off your feet!” he exclaimed. I barely had time to smack him in the shoulder before he stole another kiss from me, this one deep and passionate.
“Miss me while I’m gone, love,” he whispered, righting me on my feet once more before heading out the door. I rolled my eyes, chuckling at him as the door closed.
“Well, look at you two lovebirds,” Delilah teased.
“Uh,” I stammered, looking at the three women who all look right back at me expectantly. What was I supposed to do? “Can I offer you all some…” I trailed off, turning towards the kitchen where I knew very little food could be found.
“Hush, come talk with us!” Ruth exclaimed, patting the chair that sat opposite of her.
“You do not need to host us or put on airs with us, Naomi,” Talia encouraged me. I breathed a sigh of relief, sitting down in the chair opposite of my new sisters.
“So how are things going with Gideon?” Delilah jumped right in.
“Way to ease in, Lilah,” Talia playfully scolded her.
“She’s fine,” I laughed the comment off. “Gideon and I are… good?”
“Was that supposed to be a statement or a question?” Ruth teased.
“Ugh, I don’t know,” I groaned, putting my head in my hands. “He’s confusing.”
“Honey, they all are,” Ruth chided, making all of us laugh in agreement.
“What has you confused?” Delilah questioned.
“Well… gosh, I’m not sure how to say this,” I muttered, trying to find words to express how I was feeling without coming right out with the whole — and explicit — truth.
“Blunt and honest is usually the best policy,” Delilah suggested as the other girls nodded along.
“One minute we are bickering, fighting like cats and dogs, and the next…” I trailed off.
“The next you’re fucking like bunnies?” Delilah finished for me. My mouth opened in surprise at her cursing as I sat there dumbfounded.
“Delilah is blunt, but we all curse. No need to filter yourself,” Ruth encouraged.
“Well, yeah. The next minute it’s hot and heavy and then there’s the kink aspect. But then there’s the plan and my trauma and, I just don’t know what to make of it all.” I let my whole truth tumble from my lips just as Ruth had suggested - without a filter.
“So does that mean he’s had you in ropes?” Delilah asked, her eyes sparkling with interest.
“Delilah, have some patience and some decorum, please,” Ruth chided her, but the same question was written on Talia’s face, and honestly, Ruth’s as well.
“Yes, he has,” I admitted with a slight blush. “Just last night, in fact.” I offered that little morsel, much to the girls’ amusement. Of course, that led to a bombardment of questions.
“He tied you up last night?”
“What does rope feel like?”
