Briar scoffed.“Big ole Felix with his python arms is scared of little Briar,”she accused while using a fake whiny voice.
Leon laughed.“Well dannizone, you are full of fire, mia cara.A petardo!”
Briar looked over at him and growled, “What did you just call me?”
Leon shook his head and translated it, “A firecracker.”
Her stance seemed to relax.
Leon laughed.“You are exactly like your mother.”
Briar raised her hands in disgust and left the room.
Leon looked over at Sergi.
He shrugged.“What you see is what you get.”
Both men laughed together.
Felix looked stunned by the pair laughing. He leaned over to tell John in a whisper, “Well, that’s creepy as all fuck.”
John had to squelch his laugh.
Chapter Ten
That evening, theyall came together in the Security wing again. They had dinner and rested for a bit.
This time, the Nomads had put together their game plan.Using the information they had from what Serenity had told them and what Pippy had supplied they had their journey well planned. They couldn’t allow local authorities to see them nor have the possible people on the Brother island aware of their pending approach.
Viktor had found satellite shots of the area. From these photographs, he could see a detailed map of the island. He could also see where a boat could get through and be lost to possible commercial traffic. The local shipping companies had established themselves in this area for quite some time and this route was used by them to deliver their goods to anywhere they needed to go.
The island itself was surrounded by tall trees, hiding anything there. It looked to be swampy and seemed abandoned but they all knew it was not.It may have been swampy but it wasn’t abandoned.
Briar had told his team that it was the perfect place for Anton and his men to hide their activities. She had gotten more information from Pippy. Not only did they run women through there but they also ran guns, drugs and other contraband that they didn’t want the authorities to know about. This was how they made their money.
Pippy told them he’d found that the Shipping Chief of the river was related to Anton somehow.Or they had put him in place so that any activity caught on the islands would not be reported. He also insisted theso calledlaw men in the Bronx area often looked the other way for a payout twice a month.
