Chapter Four
Nikoli shook his headand said “I have a feeling this is going to be a very long day.”
Just then, a knock came on the door.
Artem opened it.
Felix stood there with his arms crossed over his massive chest, glaring at Sergi.“You can’t just disappear on me like that.”He growled.
“I didn’t go anywhere but to Nicky’s suite and this one.”Sergi growled too.“We were on our way back to security, so just cool down,Mama.”
Briar tried to cover her laugh but didn’t quite succeed.
Felix raised a brow at him.“Serenity found something.She called down to let us know but you weren’t there so I came looking for you.She wants to tell you in person.”
Sergi looked at Nikoli then nodded.“Then let's hear what she has to say.Everyone come with me.”
They all left the room and went back down the hall.
Sergi knocked.
Nicky opened the door with a dead pan expression on his face and he stepped back.
They all came in and looked over at Serenity.
“What did you find?”Sergi asked her as he went over to her desk.
Serenity shook her head.“A link of sorts between the two groups.Artemy Barasco got more than one woman pregnant back in his day.Ingrid was only one of three women he was playing house with.Another woman was Carmen Eliseo.He required her father’s backing in a land deal in Italy, thirty years ago.He left her with a son named Mario.Mario eventually became a leader in the Triple Triangles and reportedly, he was one of the group that busted Artemy out of prison.According to Interpol’s inner reports, they boarded a plane to America and should be here in about five hours.Mario used his own passport but he already had a fake passport made up for his father.He’s traveling under the name of Stuart Bennett.”
Sergi let her words sink into his mind then shook his head.“They had it all planned out.Ublyudki,” he swore under his breath.Then he stood straighter and taller.“Only they made one mistake, they underestimated us.They think we will bow down to their superiority but they do not know the Bratva doesn’t bow to anyone.They will have to learn as many have before them.You cannot beat warriors.”He turned to Nikoli.“Clear the hotel of all guests and staff.We don’t want anyone here that could get hurt.”He looked over at Artem.“Get a team together and get the family underground where they won’t get caught in the blowback.Talk to Felix here about where.He knows where the safe area is.”
Nikoli sighed.“This is going to be a long day.”
“You are right.For us and them.”Sergi sighed with him.“They want to bring their war to this City?Well, they are about to find out that the Bratva is bigger and badder than they ever thought.”Then he turned and strode out of the room.
Felix scrambled to catch up to him.
Nikoli looked at his son and daughter in law.He shook his head and made the sign of the cross over his chest.“Zashchiti nas vo vremya voyny.”He opened his eyes and told them both, “Bring your computers, he’s going to want everyone off the floors.You can set up in the security wing in the basement.”Then he too turned and left the room.
Nicky looked at his wife then began packing up his computer set up.
Briar grabbed her phone and made a call.She had to warn her friends.She sure didn’t want them hurt.
Everyone else got packed up and were moving toward the door.
