Lil brings the hot mug to her nose and takes a whiff. “Hmmmm.” I swear the sound goes straight to my cock, and I have to shift in my seat to keep myself from getting hard. “Is this a dirty chai?”

“Extra shot. Had a feeling you were gonna need it,” I answer.

She takes a long slow drink, closing her eyes as she savors its taste. When her eyes open, she looks right at me. “If I wasn’t already sleeping with you, I definitely would be now.”

For the second time this morning, I laugh a truly genuine laugh. I seem to be doing that a lot around both of them.

Lil looks over at Dom and runs her hand down his arm. “Thank you for the muffin, Baby.”

Dom beams with pride. “I know how much you like your chocolate,” he says with a wink.

“Hell yeah I do.” She rips off a small piece off the top of her muffin and pops it in her mouth. My eyes home in on the way her full lips move. “Alright, boys. Hit me,” she mumbles around her muffin.

“We wanted to hear what you had to say first,” Dom answers.

Lil’s shoulders stiffen ever so slightly before taking a deep breath. She busies herself by brushing her hands together, clearing off any muffin crumbs that stick to her delicate fingers. Dom and I wait, leaving her to garner the courage to say whatever it is she has to say. “I-I really enjoyed what happened in Turks and Caicos.”

Dom gently sets his large hand on her wrist, gently stroking it with the pad of his thumb. “So did we, Honey.”

She offers him a soft smile. “And… and I think—no, I know—I know I want more of it. Ofthat. With both of you.”

Lil looks between the two of us nervously as Dom drops his chin in my direction. I set my hand on top of her free one. “So do we, Sweetheart.” I’m not sure where that nickname came from but it just felt right. And judging by the way her blush deepens across her cheeks, I’d wager a bet she likes it too. “But I think if we’re going to do this we need to establish some ground rules.”

“Agreed,” Dom replies.

“Me too,” Lil adds.

“Okay.” I look around the room then back to where mine and Dom’s hands rest on hers. “How dowe feel about other people seeing the three of us in public?”

Lil looks to Dom. “Emerson and I already have a pretty established relationship. We’re not outwardly affectionate in front of other people, not because we don’t want to be, but because it’s nobody’s business honestly. But then again, I don’t think anyone would necessarily be surprised if they found out.”

He’s right.

“I’m not much for PDA,” Lil adds. Dom and I start to lift both our hands in unison, but Lil flips hers over and grabs onto them. “But… if I want to touch the two of you in public, I’d like to be able to. If that’s okay with you?”

Dominic beams. “Hell yeah, it’s fine with me.”

She looks to me and I nod my head. Continuing, I ask, “Is everyone still in the same place we were before? We just want to have fun?” The two of them nod in agreement. “Then we all have to be on the same page. No more secrets.”

“I don’t think any one of us should see anyone else,” Dom blurts out. “I mean—I just—this is complicated enough. I don’t want to add other people into the mix.”

“I agree,” Lil answers.

“None of us were seeing anyone else anyway,” I answer nonchalantly.

“Two of us are allowed to spend time with each other without the third one present?” Lil phrases it as a question, but I have a feeling it’s not.

But judging by the way Dom slightly stiffens, I’d gather that makes him just as nervous as it does me.However, it wouldn’t be fair to Lil. Dominic and I spend a lot of our time together. It’s part of being on the same team. So, to make her spend time with both of us all of the time wouldn’t be fair since we can’t be held to the same standards.

As if he were reading my mind, Dom and I nod in unison.

“If at any point, one of us wants to be done, we need to be up front about it. If this”—I point between the three of us—“is meant for us to have fun then that’s what it should be.Fun.If that’s no longer what’s happening it needs to be clear.” What I’m about to say next is something I thought about all night while I was lying in bed next to Dom. My best friend. My person. And as I stare across the table at him, sitting next to Lil, the woman who has the power to be our undoing, I realize there’s no way I can’t not say it. Before anything, my friendship with Dom has to come first. He’s the only person I’ve ever felt trulyseesme. Always. And that’s something I can’t lose. No version of any relationship is worth that risk. So taking a deep breath, I rush out, “And if one of us wants to be done, I think weallneed to be done.”

Dom’s eyes widen for a moment, but just as quickly as shock takes over his face, it just as quickly morphs into understanding. His eyes soften and he tilts his head at me. He doesn’t even have to say anything, and I know he understands. Then I look over at Lil, who is busy looking at Dom as he looks at me. And I see it. I watch as she finally grasps what he and I feel for one another. It’s something few people are privilegedenough to find. Because with or without sex, he is my person.

And finding someone who will love you like that is a rarity.

She smiles softly at him before turning her head to find me already staring at her. Letting go of my hand, she reaches up to cup my face, grazing her thumb along the corner of my mouth. “I think you boys got yourself a deal,” she says softly.
