His eyes are bright and he’s practically buzzing. Like he could suit up and play right now.
“I’m expected at the next team practice in two days.” He shakes his head like he still can’t believe it. A second later, he blinks and his gaze focuses. “Crap, I’m gonna have to quit hockey camp. I won’t have time now that I’m back on the team.”
I squeeze his hand. “That’s okay. The kids will understand when you explain it to them. They’ll probably be excited that they’ll be able to watch you play hockey again.”
A small smile tugs at his lips, but he still looks a little sad. “Maybe. Hopefully.”
His gaze focuses as he looks at me. “And that means I’ll have to move out of here. Now that I’m back on the team I guess I don’t have to stay here anymore.”
“Oh. Right.”
Disappointment rockets through me. Now that Theo is back on his team and plans to move out of here, that probably means things between us will fizzle out…
I swallow through the sudden soreness in my throat and try to smile.
Theo steps toward me, the intensity amping up in his whisper-blue eyes. He slinks his arms around my waist and pulls me tight against him. “Unless you want to stay for a little while longer,” he says in a soft, low voice.
A rush of excitement hits me. “I’d like that. I don’t want to leave just yet.”
The corner of his mouth hooks up. “Neither do I. This place feels like home with you, Maya.”
My heart feels like it’s going to burst in my chest. “I feel the same.”
He presses a teasing kiss to my lips. When we break apart to catch our breath, I rest my forehead against him.
“Hey, um, I wanna ask you something,” he says. “Maybe it’s kind of a weird question, but…”
I lean back to look at him. “What is it?”
He takes a second to swallow. “Will you come to my first game back? It’s Thursday.”
He lets out a breathy laugh and tugs a hand through his hair like he’s nervous to ask me this. “As excited as I am to be back, I’m nervous too. And having you there would help. A lot.”
My heart is fluttering to the max. “You want me there?”
He nods. “Most of the guys on the team who are in relationships, their wives and girlfriends come and watch them play.”
I’m quiet as I process what he’s just said.
Girlfriend
“You want me to be your girlfriend?” I say, surprised.
He nods, but a second later he presses his eyes shut. “I know I’m probably coming off a little strong here. I know you said you’re only interested in something casual, but I’m crazy about you Maya.”
I can feel the thud of his heart as it hammers in his chest. I can tell just how nervous he is to say all this, to be open about his feelings for me.
He looks at me. “Sorry, that was weird of me to ask, wasn’t it—”
I grab his face and kiss him. When we break apart, he looks dazed.
“I want to be your girlfriend, Theo. I want to come to your game.”
He lets out a breath through his gorgeous smiling lips before kissing me again. “God, it feels amazing to hear you say that,” he says between kisses.
Together we fall back into bed. As we get filthy underneath the sheets, my heart is bursting in my chest. I never thought I’d be this giddy, this eager to be in a relationship. But that’s exactly how I feel right now. I’m Theo Thompson’s girlfriend and I’ve never, ever been so happy.
I move so I’m on top of Theo. As I grind against his hard dick, I smile down at him and bite my lip.
