Soren
Soren knew when he was younger that he wanted to be a lawyer.
And he worked toward that goal with a single minded focus.
He didn’t want to deviate from his set goal, so he didn’t.
He was a popular kid, and he could have dated any woman he wanted to, but he always held back.
He didn’t want to be distracted from school by a girl. They weren’t worth his time anyway..
He just worked hard, and the only fun he had was when he played football on the weekends with his friends and watching football with his dad.
They were huge fans of the Oregon Alphas and never missed a game unless it was absolutely necessary.
Soren could tell you about any player on the team, their stats and their damn middle names.
He was that obsessed. He liked certain players, as did his dad and whenever those players were replaced or traded, they would be upset for a while, but they would move on.
Soren personally thought the owner was ridiculous for some of the trades they made..
He knew that man made decisions on a whim that affected his team. And not always in a good way.
He would still watch the games, even if he got angry at the owner of the team, but it was less enjoyable.
His dad felt the same, but they still watched every damn game without fail.
Some of his friends would come over sometimes to watch the game with him, but no one was as big a fan as he and his dad were.
They would come mainly to eat the food his mom cooked. She was a great cook and his friends were enamored with all the good food.
They tried to talk to him during a game and he firmly let them know it wasn’t something he did.
His friends would laugh and watch the game, but not with the single minded focus he and his dad had.
His sister would come into the room and not a single one of his friends noticed her.
It was as if she were invisible to them and it irritated Soren to no end.
She was a smart girl. Plus, she was sweet and did a lot. He wanted her to make friends, and to be noticed, but it wasn’t to be.
He tried to help his sister with his popularity at school, but kids were cruel and he would much rather have her be invisible than have her be made fun of.
She hated it and told him all the time, but he tried his best to protect her from it all.
She was tender hearted and kind, and had this light about her that made her stand out to those who appreciated her, and he didn’t want anyone to diminish that light.
He loved hearing her ideas while she tried to be noticed and though he could tell a difference, the head quarterback, Brad didn’t.
Soren had girls hanging on him at every different turn and they were cruel and mean to every single girl in the school. Soren hated it and them.
Letting them know that the ideas they had in their head about getting together with him were just that. Ideas. And they were never going to come true.
The girls didn’t like that and lashed out more, at anyone. Especially to him and Soren didn’t want Shelley to be next.
Brad did notice Shelley the first time she came to school with her new makeover, but Soren let him know that in no uncertain terms that he would kick Brad’s ass if he looked twice at his sister and Brad knew that Soren could do it.
Soren wasn’t the most muscular kid, but he worked out with the football team, and he was scrappy.
