Taking the cut, I turn towards Ally, conscious of all the people watching us. I’m nervous, but as soon as my eyes lock with hers, it all falls away and all I see is her. My nose stings as emotion fills me at the pure love and happiness I see on her face. Clearing my throat before I speak, “Ally, you took me by surprise. When I thought I’d never feel happiness again, there you were, like you were waiting for me. You are everything I’ve ever wanted, everything I didn’t know that I needed. Until you, I didn’t know what I was missing. You’re my first, my last, and my forever.”

Tears are streaming down Ally’s cheeks, and from behind me, I hear a sniffle. Holding out her cut, I ask, “Will you be my Old Lady and eventually my wife?”

“Oh, Sam,” her lip trembles. Rolling to her toes, she places her lips on mine for a minute before whispering, “Yes to both.”

There’s no way I’m containing the smile that breaks over my face at her words. Ally turns so that I can help her put her cut on. As it settles on her shoulders, I look down, and possessive pride takes hold of me at seeing my name on her back. Turning her back towards all those in the clubhouse to show them her property patch, we grin at each other—cheering, hooting, and hollering going on.

Slipping my hand into my pocket, I take out the ring I’ve been carrying around for the last week. Taking her hand, I slip it on her finger. Stooping down, I whisper in her ear, “No take backs, you already said yes.”

She snorts a laugh, burying her face in my shoulder and wrapping her arms around my waist. I cup the back of her head and hug her to me.

“Love you, baby.”

I know that we’re ignoring everyone, but at the moment, my focus is on the woman in my arms, the one that’s just agreed to be mine in every way.

Ally tilts her head up, her eyes soft, “Love you too, Sam. Always and forever.”

Pressing my lips to hers, I wrap my hands around her thighs and lift her up. Kissing her long and hard, pouring every ounce of what I’m feeling into it, losing myself in all that’s Ally. I ignore the heckles and whistles. This moment is for us, for everything we’ve been through to get to this point.

Only when we have to come up for air do I lift my lips from hers. Loosening my grip, I let her legs slide down until she’s standing. Once she is, Jeanie’s there admiring her ring until she’s enveloped in her family and mine.

Adam meets my gaze over her head, and he nods. Returning it, I know that it’s more than a nod. It’s a welcome to the family and I’ll kill you if you don’t treat my baby girl right type of nod.

Mum makes her way towards me. I open my arms and enfold her, laughing when she says, “Oh, baby boy. You have just got the nod from one of the most dangerous men in this room. I hope you know that.”

“I do,” I chuckle, “Adam and I’ve got an understanding.”

“I sure as fuck hope so,” Mum mumbles, moving to my side. She keeps an arm wrapped around my waist as we watch Ally being congratulated. On her other side, Dad wraps his arm around her shoulders.

Turning towards them, I say, “It’s because of you two that I know this is right. I’ve wanted what you two have for years, and I’ve finally got it. I don’t think I’ve ever thanked you both for everything you’ve ever done for me.”

Mum’s eyes fill with tears, and Dad clears his throat, “Fuck,” he grumbles. “You kids are going to be the death of me. I sure as fuck hope Ben, Ellie, and KJ are easier.”

I’m laughing at him when Ellie squeezes her way through everyone to wrap her arms around me. Standing on tiptoe, she whispers in my ear, “You’ll be good now, Sam. Your colours match. They didn’t with Bella—hers were always pulling away.” Ellie steps back and looks up at me, “Yours and Ally’s mingle. It’s beautiful.”

My shoulders relax. Until that moment, I hadn’t realised I was worried, but with Ellie’s confirmation, I know all will be okay. After all, my sister’s never wrong.

CHAPTER 16

SAM

It’s a few weeks later that the shit hits the fan big time, and I realise how lucky I am to have the family I do.

I’m sitting in the kitchen at the manor, shooting the shit and having a beer with my brothers. Ally’s at her family’s compound discussing our wedding.

I’d missed this. I loved living at the flat, but that didn’t mean that I didn’t miss living amongst everyone.

Alec gets a message that I know has to be from Bren with the sappy look he gets on his face as he reads it. When Dad questions him, he confirms it.

And then Dad gets the call that derails our whole evening. Bren and Ellie are kidnapped. My dad completely falls apart. He’s not the President of an MC, not with his girls missing. He’s a worried father.

I don’t think twice; I take charge and make sure we have a plan in place to get them back. We’re waiting for information, so I take my phone out and walk outside, pressing the call button. I wait until it’s answered.

“Sam?”

“Listen, I don’t have a lot of time, but my sisters were taken tonight. I don’t want Ally to worry. Are you with her?”

“Yeah, she’s in the lounge with her mum and sister.”
