She had me, and I had her.

Todaywasabigday.
Huge.
Monumental.
Life-changing.
And I couldn’t be happier.
Granted, I’d been uttering the last four words every chance I could get over the past five months. But that didn’t make them any less true. Especially today.
“Our driver for the night just called. He’s outside.”
Zach’s deep timbre rolled over my skin a second before his scent enveloped me. I closed my eyes and inhaled deeply. Then did it again. When I finally parted my lids and turned away from the window to face him, I wasn’t surprised to find his dark gaze studiously trained on me.
And just like it always had whenever he looked at me like that, my nerves tingled, and fire rushed through my veins.
“You’re a vision.” Cocking his head, he narrowed his eyes slightly. “But something is missing?”
“What?” I squeaked out, immediately looking down to take in my silver dress and sparkly heels.
It was one of my designs, my most provocative one, actually. The neckline was deep, plunging down between my breasts, only stopping a few inches above my belly button. And although it was tight and short, the long, puffy sleeves still made me feel like a princess.
A sexy, naughty princess.
One that couldn’t wait for her husband to slowly peel the material off her body and devour her until she was nothing but a puddle of melted bones.
The thought alone had goose bumps popping up all over my skin and need pooling between my thighs.
Ignoring the tug low in my belly, I smoothed my palms over my dress and lifted my head. Zach had moved closer. So close that I could easily push onto my toes and press my lips to his. But if I did that, we’d never leave.
And Aurulia would definitely hang me if I didn’t show up at the unveiling of our bridal line.
Focusing on that, I met Zach’s stare. “What’s missing?”
“This.”
The way his voice had gone all deliciously raspy, I thought for sure he was going to kiss me senseless.
But he held up a rectangular box between us instead.
My gaze flicked down just in time to see him open it to reveal the most gorgeous necklace. A thin white-gold chain with a marquise-shaped black stone that sparkled despite its dark color.
“It’s beautiful, Zach,” I breathed out.
Removing it from the box, he stepped behind me. I lifted my hair enough for him to slip the jewelry around my neck. The sensation of the cold stone against my already-way-too-hot skin sent a delicious shiver down my spine.
“It’s an Aphrodite pendant,” he murmured when he was in front of me again. “Because you’ll always be my goddess.”
This man.
Just when I thought I couldn’t possibly love him any more than I already did, he does this.
