“Everything okay?”
“Text from my men. They’re making sure I’m good up here, wanna know if I need them to come clear the road with the plow when things slow down.”
He types a quick response. “Told them I’m fine and to stay put.”
“Y… you don’t want them to?”
He sets his phone down and pulls me closer, his big hands cupping my ass and squeezing, making me feel all kinds of tingly and giddy all at once. “Not yet, angel. I’m not ready to share you with the world.”
The possessive note in his voice makes me shiver. “Reed?”
“Yeah, baby?”
“I’m not ready either.”
Then, he kisses me deep, wet, slow, and I completely melt into his big, warm body.
Ten
Havoc
Tyra’s out cold against my chest, breathing softly. I’ve been awake for an hour just watching her sleep, feeling her heartbeat steady against me.
Never thought I’d want this - someone in my space, changing my entire life. Solitude worked just fine for me. Then, my angel shows up lost in a storm, and everything shifted.
She agreed to rearrange her entire life to be with me.
Tyra stirs, her big brown eyes blinking open.
“Morning,” she mumbles against my chest.
“Afternoon, angel,” I tease her, leaning to press a kiss on her soft lips.
“Still snowing?”
I glance toward the window. “Storm’s breaking.”
She tenses. “It’s over?”
“Yeah, baby. Should be clear by tomorrow, maybe tonight.”
“Oh.” Her voice goes quiet.
“Problem?”
“No, I just… thought we had more time.”
“We have all the time in the world.”
She lifts her head to look at me. “Really?”
“Really.”
She sits up, studying my face. “But, Havoc, this is your place. Your refuge.”
“Cabin isn’t going anywhere.” I brush hair from her face. “You think I’m letting you face the world alone after this?”
She shakes her head slowly, a soft smile spreading on her face. “You’re serious.”
