My mouth dropped open. The dark-haired girl’s eyes widened on mine and she tipped her head to the side.

A man with silver hair shuffled forward with her and he shared a look with the salt-and-pepper haired woman.

I scribbled across the notepad.

“When?” I lifted it.

“She shifted when she was seven while Kit was our Alpha,” Bria responded. I gasped. I knew we had the ability to shift early on, but fuck. There were consequences of not being informed. Kit hadn’t told me about this. “Morag and Clyde adopted her.”

How was she still safe?

“No one hurts her?”I gripped the pen so tightly that it burned.

“The entire pack knows. Kit made sure to dispose of anyone he thought would be a threat a long time ago. Now that it’s my job to protect my pack, I figured you could give us some pointers for when she’s older.”

I lifted my brow at the Alpha. I could see why Kit was overall okay to leave the pack in his hands. He was sloppy, but he seemed to care.

“Alpha Jace was only following my request, Willow,” Morag said, fingers flexing on the girl’s shoulder.

The things I knew about Omega’s flashed in my mind and I quickly scribbled.

“She’s never had a heat.” My shoulders relaxed, relieved. It made sense since she hadn’t had her period. “We know of the basic abilities she has, we will not ask her to do anything, but what we were wondering about was matings since you’ve found your mates...”

They wanted to know how it would affect her.

It’s not something I can explain well. It was something Iknewbased off scent and my reaction. As for them not asking her to use her ability was shocking... and reassuring. One of our gifts was the Omega Call. A coveted ability where we could call forward the wolf of any defective werewolf that couldn’t shift. Defective werewolves were becoming more prevalent in the last centuries and our population dwindled. It was a big motivator for keeping hidden, because although helping was good, the consequences of being used and abused were enough to keep me hidden.

Omegas were thought to be gone, so if a desperate pack heard of another having an Omega, it would create chaos.

“We found her when she was a babe,” Morag said. My face must blare my questions. “Introduce yourself, little lass,” the woman prodded, in her thick accent.

The young girl blinked up at me.

I wiggled my fingers at her and she smiled, huddling behind her mother’s arm.

A roar from outside shook the wall.

“I knew it would nae take him long,” Bria grimaced. “He’s going to be pissed.”

“I’ll escort him in,” Clyde said and left. He was only gone a moment before Kit stormed into the room, Camden on his heels and wolf Rowan’s head lowered with his teeth bared. Morag pulled the girl back, gasping.

Clyde stumbled back in, palming his cheek.

Jace stormed forward, going chest-to-chest with Kit.

My mate’s eyes spat fire and he sneered. “I’d kill you if you hadn’t left me that message that you took her.” Jace stumbled back, catching himself. Rowan prowled in front of me, attempting to block me from the fight. I shook my head, sighing.

“I don’t owe him any consideration.” Camden stormed forward and slammed his fist into Jace’s other cheek. He grunted, stumbling back. He snarled and shot forward, but Camden easily slammed him back down.

Before he could continue the pissing contest, I threw the notepad at Camden, and it hit him in the face and fell to the ground. The girl giggled and I couldn’t help the grin spreading across my lips.

He glared at me and I jerked my hands out in a motion to stop. Clyde stepped in front of her when Rowan growled and rubbed against my leg.

I frowned. I didn’t like that and I slipped my hand over his neck. Clyde’s jaw tightened and looked away.

“Rowan killed his brother,” Bria stage-whispered toward me.So that was why he was banished.“And killed Jace’s cousin.” I winced and tugged Rowan’s fur back. No wonder.

Jace stood back up, brushing himself off.
