“Fine,” he snapped. Kit waited near the seat across from us, with his arms crossed. Camden nodded for him to get in first.

“No, thank you, I do nae like being closed in.”

“Me neither, you bag of—” I slapped my palm on the surface of the table and glared at them. People were staring. Camden sneered and pushed into the booth.

I didn’t miss Kit’s triumphant smirk.

I rolled my eyes. They were still such pups.

Rowan’s arm wrapped around my back and his palm pressed into my side, scooting me flush to him. I attempted to stifle my smile but couldn’t. All my senses sparked to life and I stifled a shudder.

My lashes lowered in pleasure as he used the tip of his fingers to rub on the patch of skin he held me at beneath my shirt. A flood of arousal built at my belly.

“Are you fucking serious,” Camden muttered, brows lowered with his attention on me.

Kit moistened his lips and a red flush spread on his cheeks.

I loved the way they looked at me.

“Ready to order?”

I wrenched myself out of the thrall of his gaze as Camden ordered the food I wanted. Something called Eggy Bread. It was a good thing she yanked me out of Kit’s gaze because I still hadn’t received an explanation from him about the Omega child.

The rest ordered two portions each, and by the time the waitress completed the order, her wide eyes almost bugged out of her head.

She went off to put in our order and I was left with my mates. Two of whom seemed to really not like each other. I didn’t miss the sneers and side-eyed glares they exchanged.

“If this guy manages to get into the phone, what do you expect to do?”

“I want to find them and ask why.”

“You can’t go off half-cocked to find someone after they sold you. There are steps you take.” Concern lined Camden’s expression.

“You can nae needlessly place yourself in danger, Willow. If you allow me to find them for you, I will drag whoever took you and place them at your feet.” Kit’s words were low and rumbling. The clinking of silverware accompanied his words.

I cleared my throat, overcome by the tension in my esophagus. His intense sincerity blared through his tone.

Thiswouldbe their take. Of course it would be, but I didn’t want to be a backseat participant. I needed to put a face to the culprit and put them down, only then could my anxiety cease.

I just tilted my head down in a short nod. I didn’t want to get into it right now because if I did, I was dragging outeverythingKit kept hidden and it wasn’t the time or place. Our drinks were thumped onto the surface, and I wrapped my hands around the coffee mug.

I hummed, eyes closing as I sucked the liquid down. It also gave me the perfect escape from their pushy concern, which came from a good place.

“I’ll drive the rest of the way,” Camden announced.

“I don’t have faith in your driving, American,” Kit said. Camden’s lips tightened and I settled in for an argument.

Willow

The rental truckroared down a road, passing four other homes with about an acre between each. The area had no trees, it was an expanse of greenery. A light drizzle fell on and off throughout the drive. Kit was bringing us to their house on the English countryside. It’d been news to me that he had another home. It made me realize I knew little about them. Rowan or him.

Camden I knew like the back of my hand, but not my other mates. I wanted to know more.

Rowan had shifted back into his wolfman form as soon as we were back in the truck, so it didn’t surprise me when his fur tickled my arms and he pushed into my side, invading my space. I wouldn’t doubt it if he sensed my unease. He exhaled into my neck, and I leaned into him, lifting my arms around his wide torso. My fingers buried into his shaggy fur.

A soft rumble rolled through Rowan’s chest. The frantic thumping of my heart slowed. Sinking my teeth into my lower lip, I turned my face into Rowan, inhaling his pine and rose scent.

I needed more time in their arms. The truck hissed to a stop and Kit peered back at me, his brows lowered, gaze unreadable.
