Digging his boot into the dirt, he struggled to get both of his legs under his body, then pushed up like never before.

Ow. His ankle. Fuck.Getting old really sucked.

You were also in a fight to the death only a week ago, bitch.

Yeah, and this man was also in a match to the death only… ten minutes ago?

Fuck!

Pulling one of his blades from the dirt, he took a defensive stance once again and tried to visualize the path of his blade.

Fuck. A defensive stance was going to get him killed. He needed to attack.

Blade took a deep breath before throwing the blade directly at his attacker's chest.

The man swatted away the blade as if it were an annoying fly.

The crowd cheered again.

Blade was starting to not like any of these bafoons… all standing around… watching them fight. Like they could do any better.

Fine.He was done playing nice.

He grabbed two more blades from the back of his jeans and whipped them both with as much speed and precision as he could muster.

The objects sailed through the air and landed in the center of the beast’s palms when he attempted to catch the blades with his two bare hands.

Like, who the heck did this guy think he was?

Blade was beginning to think that all the members of the crew had some sort of god complex. First his father, then the ninja assassins, now this superhuman beast-monster?

The man let out a grunt when he realized he had failed to catch the flying blades with his hands and that he had actually been stabbed in the process.

Now was his chance. With the angry beast distracted, Blade lunged at the man, plunging another blade into the unsuspecting man’s chest.

The beast let out a roar.

Blade pulled the steel blade from the man’s chest, then began stabbing him repeatedly, over and over, while the man was still confused as to what was really happening.

Another round of cheering. Some hollered while others threw beer bottles at them. One struck Blade in the back, causing him to momentarily lose focus.

The beast roared, just as his eyes came into focus. He snarled, then punched Blade in the gut, knocking him to the ground, before lunging at him.

The two fought on the ground. Blade stabbed the man in any exposed flesh he could find, while the beast above him threw savage punches at his head and stomach.

Lights flashed across his eyes with each blow to his head.

The beating was savage. Blade had never felt anything like it.

Blood splattered every time Blade pulled out his blade and drove it back into his attacker.

Both of them were covered in blood.

Why won’t he die?Blade thought to himself as he struggled to remain conscious. If he passed out now, his life would be over.

He just needed to hold on a bit longer…

It was at that moment that the ground around them shook. A thunderous roar filled the evening air as if Satan and all his demons were riding in to watch the death match that was underway.
