"What do you mean, keep her?You can’t be serious, Ashland. You can’t just fucking keep people because you feel like it. We don’t know this woman. We don’t even know what kind of witch she is, because trust me, she isn’t human.”

“Rhodes, you’re being a real cunt bag right now, and it’s totally bringing down my knot. Can you just dial it back a tad?” I looked down at my little baby knot. It was cute, but it wasn’t the wrecking ball of pussy destruction it had been a minute ago, and that made me sad.

“I’m going to fuck you up if you don’t get your shit together,” he snapped at me. Grumpy jerk.

“How would it work?” Felix asked Ash. Good. I knew he’d be on board.

Ash smirked. I smirked. We were just a couple of smirky boys coming up with grand plans.Fucking love his crazy ass.“I’m going to do what I do best. I’m going to make her a deal.”

Deal making was one of Ashland’s powers. He was scary good at them, always coming out on top. Look at that poor wannabe pupper earlier—started the night with the world at his fingertips, and now he had no neck. Because it was stabbed. Twice.

“I think this is a mistake,” Rhodes announced.

“We’ll vote on it. All in favor of keeping the bunny, say aye.”

Misha, myself, and Ashland all voted immediately, a resounding aye. Felix wiped his hand over his head. “It’s not that I’m against this, because I’m not, per se. I’m just wary because something feels different. Right? How many people have we shared in the past? Yet this hasneverhappened. I think we need to be careful.”

“We can still be careful without killing her, and if shit goes south, we can reevaluate later. I’m not against killing someone who’s a threat to us.” I rolled my eyes. “Obviously.”

My brother studied my face, looking for… what? I had no idea. But he must’ve found it, because he nodded. “I’m in.”

“Idiots,” Rhodes spat. “I’ll be in the gods damn penthouse; I need to decompress. But I’m telling you right now—if I see her doing anything shady, I’ll end her, and you four can suck my cock in thanks.”

In a blink, he was gone. I guess he wasn’t concerned about her seeing him jump now that the secret was out. As demons, we all had an ability called jumping, which allowed us to teleport. Since our true nature was a secret, we didn’t get to use it all that often in Port Black.

“He’ll come around,” Ash said, waving off Rhode’s grumpy dick energy.

Misha was done waiting around. He closed his eyes, and his demon form disappeared. Leaving us standing there, he made his way over to Palmer. She was sitting on the edge of the crate, her legs dangling now. I studied her, surprised that she hadn’t tried to run yet, though I decided she was probably just in shock. Her impossibly wide eyes watched Misha suspiciously as he approached.

Ashland sighed and forced his demon away too. “So, let’s go make ourselves a deal.”

Felix and I trailed behind, not quite ready to return to our other forms. I loved letting the beast out of the chains.‘How did it feel?’he whispered inside my head, one of the little perks that the two of us shared since we’d shared a womb.

I side-eyed my brother.‘How do you think it felt?’

He grinned.‘Fucking fantastic?’

‘Better than fantastic. Whatever that is.’

‘I hope we aren’t making a mistake,’Felix mused apprehensively just as we reached the others.

I shrugged.‘We always make mistakes, brother. Or have you forgotten how we earned our fucking name?’

He froze and turned to me.‘How could I forget?’

‘Exactly!’I punched him in the shoulder.‘But we always come out on top, don’t we?’

“One of you better start fucking talking, because if you’re going to kill me, you’re going to have a fight on your hands,” Palmer informed us, sliding off the crate and standing naked at her full height, which looked to be an impressive five-foot-two without heels.

She was so damn feisty. Not my usual cup of tea, but maybe that was because I’d just never had a good enough sampling before? Either way, my knot pulsed at her attitude.

Eep. Sassiness is the key to knot growth? Interesting.

“Talon? Did you hear what I said?”

“Huh?” I blinked, allowing my brain to come back online after the epiphany I’d just had. Palmer huffed like a baby goat and raised her hands, like we were gonna fight or something. “What are you doing? Put those hands down.”

Ashland chuckled. “She said she’s going to fight us if we try to kill her.”
