Zero that don’t involve sex, anyway.

“Hey now. That’s not fair. He’s got them, they’re just buried under a lot of arrogance,” Liv says defensively. I think she’s the only one who’s got a soft spot for him, in the same way any mom does for their black sheep kid.

“And I’m not looking to excavate layers of bullshit to find them,” I snark, hoping that it’ll put a close to this conversation that I don’t want to be having.

Kenz snickers and links her arm with me as we walk out to Liv’s car to head out for dinner.

When we getto the restaurant the guys are already there and have a table for us. I get stuck sitting next to Easton as the couples cuddle up around the semi-circle booth.

“No Ben?” I ask as I sit down because I’d much rather be sitting next to him right now.

“He was meeting up with someone,” Waylon answers.

“That’s too bad.” I set my bag at my feet and do my best not to look at Easton.

“Don’t tell meyouhave a crush on him now.” Waylon shoots me a look.

“Wren doesn’t have crushes on mortal men, honey. Her crushes are Fitzwilliam Darcy, Alexi Lalas in his prime, and Harrison Ford in his Indiana Jones days,” Kenz muses to Waylon

“Alexei Lalas over Tim Howard?” Easton asks.

“I like redheads,” I respond in a clipped tone because I really don’t want to discuss my taste in men with Easton. Especially when lately he’s top of the list.

“Oh, right. I forgot Jamie Fraser.” Kenz’s lips turn up in a bemused smile.

“Do you want to talk about your crush on ‘90s Kevin Costner?” I narrow my eyes.

“Let’s not and say we didn’t.” Kenz flashes me a look.

“Costner? Really?” Waylon shoots her a look of disbelief.

“He had a surly vibe that was hot in the movies he did then, okay? The characters. Not him.”

“Personally I prefer ‘90s Brad Pitt,” Liv chimes in.

“The fuck you do,” Liam grumbles before he captures her mouth with his and we all have to look away because my god those two do not stop with the PDA these days.

“Did you get coverage to go on the ski trip?” Kenz turns back to me, giving us something else to focus on.

“I did. I managed to line up some backup help. So long as none of them has to call off or bail at the last minute, I’m coming.” I smile at her because I’m excited about the mini vacation we’re taking.

That’s one of the benefits of Highland State, in addition to Spring Break we also get a week off in the winter. Even though it’s technically a ski vacation, I plan to spend most of it curled up in front of a fire with a book and hot cocoa with a view of the mountains.

“Speaking of, I booked our hotel rooms,” Easton glances down at his menu as he says it.

And I’m surprised he was given that task over someone like Liv.

“Yeah? Anywhere good?” Kenz asks.

“Yup. Called in a couple of favors and got us a great deal at an exclusive resort,” he answers and that explains why he was given the task. “Only problem is that it’s couples only.”

I frown, because he knows damn well I’m planning to go, and while he and Ben could probably call up jersey chasers for the occasion, I don’t have the same kind of roster at my fingertips.

“How’s that going to work?” Kenz frowns, and I’m thankful she asks so I don’t have to.

“You and Waylon. Liv and Liam. Ben and his friend Chelsea. Me and Wren.”
