I can imagine him looking around the living room and seeing the flowers and decorations.

 "Get out," Grey warns him.

"Fine, fine. I guess I'll have to tell the family that you're not coming to the funeral."

I hear the door shut and then silence. I move away from the door. I wait for a minute trying to decide what I should do.

I decide to go see him.

He sits on the couch, doing nothing.

"I'm sorry about your grandfather," I slap my hand over my mouth. I've just gone and basically admitted I was eavesdropping.

 "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to eavesdrop-"

 "Yes you did."

"Well, yeah, I did mean to but," I pause and try to think of an excuse.

"I'm not mad at you," he says quietly.

"I really am sorry about your grandfather," I repeat.

"It doesn't matter," he monotonously replies.

"So that was your dad," I mumble mostly to myself.

"Azalea, I don't wanna talk about him, just drop it," he sighs and now I'm the one growing agitated.

I've waited so long for him to tell me more about him and when I see the perfect opportunity, he shuts it down.

"Why are you crying?" His voice reaches my ears in a softer tone than normal. I reach up and wipe the tear under my eye.

"Because I'm frustrated," I furrow my eyebrows.

"I don't get why you're so hellbent on knowing everything about me. It doesn't fucking matter."

"That's whatyouthink! I care so much because I love you and I want you to be happy," I try to explain.

"What makes you think I'm not happy? I'm with you, I'm happy Lilah," his voice remains soft.

"Because when I kept all my thoughts in my head and never told anyone about anything, I was so unhappy and I don't want you to feel like I did," I angrily wipe under my eyes.

"I'm sorry I keep bugging you about talking to me but I want to be as much of a crutch to you as you are to me and I feel like I'm not," I continue.

"Don't think that bullshit," he exclaims sternly.

"That's enough," he stands closer and wipes the stupid tears from under my eyes.

"You're everything to me," he says and I get happy emotional.

"You've done more for me than you can imagine."

 "But-"

 "Shut up," he hushes me.

"What do you want to know?" He pulls me down to the couch and I grow excited.
