Peter’s words punctured the lust-filled balloon that had taken over her brain. Luke’s warm fingers interlaced with hers as he tugged her flush against him. She gasped as she felt his erection through the tight uniform pants.
A corner of his mouth tipped up. “Thank goodness for long jackets.”
Luke bent further. Dahlia closed her eyes and tipped her face up. But instead of his lips claiming hers, he moved so his cheek grazed hers and a frustrated sigh escaped her. Luke held her tight, chest to thigh, the buttons of the jacket pressing hard into her breasts. The metal was cold on her overheated skin, but she didn’t care. She wanted him. Badly.
“Yes! Cheek to cheek!” It was the happiest Peter had sounded all day.
Dahlia felt Luke’s heart hammering hard and knew he could feel her matching rhythm. Her hand left his shoulder to explore his back.
“Ok! I’ve got it! That’s a wrap,” Peter called.
Dahlia slowed to a stop, not wanting the moment to end. Luke leaned his head back to gaze at her as everyone around them began gathering the fake picnic props.
“Holy shit! That was incredible!” The junior assistant skipped up to them, and Dahlia came back to reality.
“Thank you for helping, Luke,” Dahlia said, unable to meet his eyes.
“I totally thought you were going to kiss her! That would have been epic! Meet you in the dressing room?”
Dahlia nodded, and the woman hurried after the others. She forced her unsteady legs to take a few steps toward the building, arousal still pulsing through her. Luke caught up to her in two strides and placed his hand on the small of her back, guiding her rapidly through the empty wood-paneled restaurant.
They had almost reached the dressing room when Luke grabbed her hand and pulled her into the tiny hall leading to the restrooms.
His mouth slammed into hers as her back hit the faux sandbag wall. Luke’s tongue slipped between her lips. Hot. Hungry.
Dahlia moaned, her hands pulling him into her, until their bodies were flush. She hooked her leg behind one of his and rubbed herself shamelessly against where his erection pressed between her thighs. She couldn’t get enough. Her entire world had narrowed to the building tension between her legs.
Luke growled, his fingers flexing on her ass. His voice was rough in her ear. “You are so fucking hot.”
His lips found a spot under her jaw that made her squirm, his hands holding her still against him. “It almost killed me not to kiss you out there. If there hadn’t been an audience…” His breathing was harsh, and she felt his cock twitch against her, inflaming her more.
His hands came up suddenly and captured her face, lowering his mouth until their lips were almost touching. “Tell me you will let me.”
“Let you what?” Dahlia breathed. She had never been so turned on in her entire life. It didn’t matter what it was, she would say yes.
“Do all the filthy, depraved things I was imagining doing to you in that dress.”
Dahlia whimpered. “As soon as we are done,” she promised, her body on fire.
Luke’s face took on a pained expression, and he pulled back, his hands gentling on her face. He brushed the hairs that had come loose during their frantic kiss back from her face. His fingers traced down her cheek, and his thumb dragged across her lower lip.
“Not yet. As much as I want to… We have to wait.”
“For?” That was not what she wanted to hear, but a voice in her brain told her it was for the best. She was getting carried away in the moment and probably should be grateful that he’d stopped. Except she wasn’t. She felt frustrated and rejected.
“For all the complications around us to be resolved. As long as I’m your lawyer, it would be unethical.”
“No one needs to know.” Dahlia sounded needy, and she hated it, but her body was aching and unfulfilled.
“Lia?” The assistant called her name snapping her back to reality.
What was she doing?
She had practically dry humped Luke with a crowd of people nearby. That would have done wonders for her professional reputation. She swallowed and licked her lips.
“You’re right. We got a little carried away in the moment. It happens.”
Luke reached for her hand as she pushed him away. Holding her head high, she didn’t look back.
