There is so much earthenware. There are potted plants everywhere. I even look for woven rugs and anything made of natural materials. Anything that will maintain our connection with Mother Earth.

News of our victory spread fast. The earth dragons that have become nomadic are all returning home. It fills my heart with great joy.

That’s what I told Gallant before. Earth dragons can live anywhere as long as their feet are firmly planted on the ground. The world is a huge place.

Of course, before all the fighting started, there are many reasons for an earth dragon to turn nomadic. Some of them just want to explore beyond their villages. These dragons often return to live peaceful, happy lives.

There are other earth dragons who have become suffocated by the simple village life and want to break free. Some of them head to the city while others wander the earth. They never stay long in one place.

So, to hear that they are coming home is such a blessing. Dragons are never at their best when alone. We need our clan to feel truly alive.

There have been times when loner dragons retreat into themselves. Some of them don’t even know how to summon their dragons anymore while others have the opposite problem. Those dragons often retreat from the world and lose their minds.

That’s some of the dangers of being a nomad. We all need our clan, not only to remind us of who we are, but also to protect us. We are definitely stronger in greater numbers.

Gallant and I welcome the nomads home. We give them a choice. They can stay in the city and find employment within the company or start their own business which will be subsidized by the company. Or they can return to the settlement and live among the earth dragons there.

The decisions are mixed. Some stay in the city while others opt to go home to the settlement. I noticed that it’s the older dragons who want to stay in the settlement while the younger ones love the allure the city presents.

It also seems that the powers of the nomads have awakened just like the dragons within the clan. They want to learn more about control. It’s a new day for them and I’m right there with them.

I’ve set up classes that they can take. I’ve even trained several dragons to teach those classes when I’m not available. At the end of the day, if they have questions, they can always come to me and I will answer them as best as I can.

We show the nomads who want to stay in the city the houses and they all have their pick. Some of them decide on living together in some of the bigger houses. They’re building their own mini communities and it makes me proud. That way they can remain connected since staying alone in a house can be lonely.

I think they are all just fed up of being by themselves. I actually can’t imagine myself living alone after living with Gallant for weeks on end. I can’t even think about lying on a bed without him beside me.

With the dragons who want to return to the settlement, I tell them to wait a moment. I want all of us to go together. That way I can reintroduce them to our clan.

“I think we have more than enough for a first trip back to the settlement,” I say as I brush my hair in front of the vanity. Gallant and I are going out to dinner and I’m wearing a pretty little dress that shows off my legs.

“I think I’ll go with you,” he says as he exits his closet. He’s already wearing a crisp white shirt and his suit pants and shoes. The jacket is hanging on one of the lounge chairs in what I’d like to think of as our room.

I turn in my seat and face him. “Really?”

I can’t hide my excitement, and he smiles brightly at me as he says, “It seems my decision is a right one if it gets that kind of a reaction from you.”

A pout changes my expression. “But aren’t you busy here with the business and making sure the dragons have their places settled?”

I hate that I sound needy, but the thought of being without him for any length of time sounds painful to me. I don’t even want to test it out. But I really have to go back to the settlement and check on things. What kind of leader would I be if I didn’t?

He comes closer and bends down. He kisses away the pout on my lips and I get a big whiff of his cologne. I pretty much feel my panties get soaked, he smells so yummy.

“Is that the new scent we’ve been developing?” I ask.

I’ve also been helping out in the new research and development lab that we set up for our tonics and salves. We’ve branched out to all-natural makeup and scents. I never knew that the market is so big for this kind of stuff.

“Please don’t get mad,” he says with a contrite look on his handsome face. “I stole a bottle from the lab. I just love the scent.”

“Bergamot and musk will certainly do that.” I wiggle my eyebrows. “I think this will be a hit with the men.”

“So, you’re not mad?”

“How can I be? I’m reaping the benefits.” I take another breath. “I’m thinking of adding the scent of leather to that. It will balance out the musk.”

“Dragon gods, you’re so sexy when your mind is working out something. If we didn’t have to go to this dinner, I’d insist on spreading you out on this bed right now.”

I grin. “That’s still possible. I’m not wearing any underwear.”
