She smiled against his lips. “I never promised I would.”

“Damn, I love you, angel.”

“Think anyone will notice if we leave early?”

Zeke snorted. “Considering we rode with your brother, I think it’ll be obvious.”

“Damn.”

“Come on, angel, let’s celebrate that you said yes and we’re going to be married soon.”

“Soon?”

“Hell yes, very soon.”

“Music to my ears.”

Nina loved her new friends, but she loved the ring on her finger even more. She loved her future husband. And their cats. And their quiet townhouse, where she could scream as loud as she wanted when he made her orgasm.

“I think it’s time for that dress to take a break,” Zeke growled as soon as they walked in the door.

“Are you sure? I was thinking maybe I’ll keep it on a little longer.”

Zeke groaned. “I can crawl underneath it.”

Nina chuckled. “Take me to bed, future husband.”

Zeke groaned. “It would be my pleasure, future wife.”

“How long until you’re going to make an honest woman out of me?”

“How about tomorrow?” Zeke asked.

Nina laughed. “We can’t get married that fast.”

“Why not?”

“It takes longer to get a marriage license.”

“Day after tomorrow?”

“Okay.”

“Are you serious?” Zeke asked.

“Yeah. I don’t want to wait. I don’t need a big wedding. I just need you.”

“Well, hell, that works for me.”

“How about first you tell me what I need to do to thank you for going tonight?”

Zeke wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her in one step at a time. “I had fun.”

“Good.”

“Thank you for saying yes.”

Nina grinned. “Well, my other boyfriend was a psycho who would have killed me if I’d called him, so I guess it’s good I called you that night.”
