“Work meeting, so club’s paying for breakfast.” She opened her tablet and swiped to her notes. “Derrick wants to put down those carpet tile thingies on the new side. We can get a fantastic deal on a remainder batch that’s all close in color, but not exact. So we can mix them around in a random pattern.”

Cali wrinkled her nose. “Isn’t that a bio-hazard?”

“No worse than what’s up Loren’s ass right now,” Eliza snarked with a grin, earning herself a bird from same said friend.

Well experienced with her friends’ attitude, Marcia ignored the aside. “No edge play or medical or wax or fire play in the new side. Including cupping.”

“Talk about a pouty face,” Cali said. “That’ll make Nate go full-on boo-boo lip. He loves fire cupping over there because it’s usually not so crowded.”

“Hmm. That’s true.” Nate was a regular who also taught classes and held demos for the club, free of charge. He was a licensed doctor of Chinese medicine, and therapeutically used acupuncture and fire cupping as part of his regular practice, plus he gave demos on electricity play.

Abbey seemed to consider it. “Can’t we keep a section over in that far corner by the bathrooms free of tiles? I mean, we wouldn’t carpet the bathrooms anyway, because, eww, gross. We can block it off or something, then Nate can still do that there. Double benefit, if we ever have a leak, hopefully all the carpet tiles won’t get wet.”

Marcia noted that on her tablet. “Sold. That’s perfect. He’s usually the only one who does that over there, anyway. We’ll need to put together a volunteer crew to lay the carpet.”

That drew snickers from everyone else except Loren, who sat there glaring.

“You said ‘lay’,” Cali joked.

Marcia continued, undeterred and used to their smart-assery. “Derrick wants to get the order put in this weekend so he can go pick it up Monday. Place is up in Jacksonville. Can we beg Sean and Max to go with?”

“Oooh, road trip!” Cali said. “I think we can arrange that. Just let us know when.” She noted it on her phone. “They have vacation time to burn.”

“Excellent.” Marcia made more notes. “Next item of business, classes…”

By the time their food arrived, they’d worked their way through Marcia’s agenda. She tucked her tablet back into her purse. “Run a BDSM club, they said. It’ll befun, they said.” She waggled a finger at Leah. “This isyourMaster’s fault, you know,” she gently added.

They all knew she didn’t mean Seth.

Leah sadly smiled. “Yeah, it is.”

A quiet moment settled over them as they all reflected on Kaden’s absence, as they tended to do when he came up like that. “Does Seth have Halloween put away and Christmas up yet?” Marcia asked to ease the tension.

Leah laughed. “He finished putting away Halloween yesterday, and he brought the first load of Christmas over from storage.”

“Wow, a week after Halloween,” Abbey said. “That’s a record for him, isn’t it?”

Leah nodded. “Pretty much, yeah. He gets faster every year.”

Every year, Leah’s first husband and Master, Kaden, used to put up Christmas lights and yard decorations. In the wake of losing him, Seth and Leah still continued the tradition, although Seth had added Halloween to the mix as a way to make that holiday his.

“That was a great Halloween party,” Abbey added. “Oh, and Gilo and I volunteer as tribute for the Valentine’s Day party,” she teased. “We haven’t hosted one in a while. It’s our turn.”

The private Suncoast Society play parties had a very exclusive invite list and were an offshoot of the Suncoast Society munch group. The private parties were where Kaden had originally put the bug in Derrick’s ear about opening a BDSM club in the first place, and then offered his legal help and expertise in setting up the corporation.

Venture, the BDSM club, had opened and allowed them to reduce their liability by not holding the play parties in private homes any longer. Now, the private party invite lists were made up of a close-knit group of friends. They had newcomers, but usually those people were friends of existing members.

Unlike at the club, the private parties were anything-goes, in terms of sex.

“Oh, did you see that fucking one-star Google review for the club this morning?” Cali asked Marcia.

Marcia arched an eyebrow. “You mean the Einstein who bitched that there were a lot of people and play at the club, but no sex, despite the fact that on the front page of our website it says no sex allowed, the rules page says no sex allowed, the info and FAQ pages say no sex allowed, and when we go over the rules, we tell them no sex allowed?”

“Yeah,thatfucker.”

Marcia snorted. “I know it was an asshat who came in last night. He called looking for a ‘titty bar’ and we told him to keep looking. Then he shows up anyway. Before I even had him fill out paperwork, I gave him the opening spiel—no sex, no drugs, no alcohol. And he said fine, he understood. Went through it again with him when I gave him the newbie talk. Then he went inside with Axel, and he left within an hour. He told Axel, ‘I didn’t think you guysreallymeant no sex. I thought you just said that publicly.’”She snorted. “Fricking dumbass.”

“How do you know it’s him?” Abbey asked.
