I handed my glass to Cosimo and without question he poured me another one. This bourbon goes down so smoothly, I better be careful. I need to get back to Gia and explain what happened and why. She is going to be pissed, but I can cross that bridge when we come to it.
I have a busy day today, so I leave the brothers to figure some shit out, and head back to the gym. When I slip back into bed, Gia snuggles into me, and I close my eyes. About thirty minutes later her alarm goes off, and I feel like shit.
As she is leaving the bed I pull her into me and kiss her. “Beautiful, we need to talk about why I was called to the club this morning.”
After explaining everything to her, she just stares at me for a moment. I am waiting for either the hurt in her eyes or for her to hit me and scream at me like most women would do. Instead, she placed my face in her hands and kissed me.
“Logan, thank you for protecting me. I guess I will have to find another yoga instructor. It really is a shame, but she is getting the help she needs. I know that Ashley is almost done with her certification training, and I will talk with her about sitting in on some of my classes and co-instructing for a while.”
“You know I would take a bullet for you my beautiful Sub. I wanted you to hear it from me before the rumor mill starts. Now go get ready for work. Looks like a pot of coffee is in order.”
We both walk down together to the front desk. Andy and Kenzie stroll in together and stop to chat. I am not sure how much I should share right now, so I decided not to say anything. After getting caught up on Trina and how she is doing, they both head to the office and I make a quick call to Margot Malone.
She tells me to keep it under wraps for now. Gia is to tell them that Susan is sick and won’t be in for a while and that I should gather all the guys that are members of the club and make sure they keep a tight lip on this. Word travels fast in the community, and we need to keep it out of the gym.
Gia tells me she was going to meet with Carol to determine if she has the capacity to pick up some of Susan’s classes. It looks like there won’t be much time for Gia and I in the next few weeks. We will get through this.
I spread the word that all the guys should meet me for lunch down at the food truck area in the park so I can tell them what is going on and to keep it private for now. As luck would have it, only one of the guys can’t make it due to scheduling, so I will fill him in later with what is happening.
Six of the seven guys meet me at the park, and we all ordered some food and head to the picnic tables.
Before I can even open my mouth, Blake pipes up, “Why didn’t you tell us you were going to collar Gia before all this shit went down? That collar must have put you back a few months my friend.”
Everyone stops eating and I get that look of ‘so what is the story.’ I explained to them everything that had been going on, most of them had no idea. I told them about our plan to catch Susan, but it didn’t go the way we thought since she tried to kill herself.
“Detective Malone and I would appreciate it if you would keep this to yourselves. We don’t want Andy and Kenzie getting wind of this. Detective Malone thinks she can get Susan to talk about what she did and then Gia can decide it she wants to press charges.”
Everyone returns to the gym and continues their normal day. I go straight to the front desk to find out where Gia is. Ashley tells me she is in the yoga studio, just cleaning up for Carol. She said she needed something fulfilling to do today.
“Hey Sugar, you hungry? I bought you something from your favorite food truck.”
Her face lights up. “Are you kidding me, after last night I could eat a full pan of lasagna.”
She grabs the bag and we both head to the kitchen so she can eat her lunch. We talk quietly for a while, and I let her know that all the guys that are members of the club know what is going on, and no one will be discussing this at the gym.
A week goes by and Margot Malone texts me to meet her with Gia at the police station. When we arrive, we are escorted to an office and then we wait. About thirty minutes go by and finally the door opens.
Margot explains to us that Susan will no longer be a threat to us. Susan admitted to everything, blowing up my bike, vandalizing the yoga studio, and sedating Gia. She said she had Marco start the fire in my apartment. She also said she did hit Gia in the head in her apartment as well. She is one psychotic bitch. She was extremely jealous of Gia, and she will be placed in a criminally insane prison. She will be there for a minimum of ten years and will receive the treatment she needs.
“Marco was involved? I can’t believe it. He seems like such a nice guy.” Gia sounds so let down.
“Yes, he was her partner in crime so to speak. Do you want to press charges against Marco?” the Detective asks.
“Is there a way to file charges without having to relive this shit by going to court, Detective Malone?” Gia asks.
“Susan has plead guilty with the offered deal that will put her in a psychiatric hospital for ten years. We can get Marco on arson charges since Susan implicated him.”
“Okay. Go ahead and get the paperwork ready and let me know when you need me back here to sign them,” I say.
“I will give you a call sometime tomorrow afternoon. They should be ready by then. In the meantime, a warrant for Marco’s arrest will be issued and he will be taken with the next two hours.”
As we leave the police station, I sigh with relief. Gia and I can now get on with our relationship, with no interference or worry. I am one lucky SOB.
Gia
I am so happy to put all of this behind us. I never thought that Susan could be so vindictive. It all makes sense now, the way she would look at Logan, touch Logan. I was so naïve.
As I run my finger over my collar, I think of what brought the two of us together, and how we are moving forward in a relationship that I hope grows into something more. I love this man, and I want to spend the rest of my life with him.
