“If you need something to play with, use your saggy little balls. You fucking perverted motherfucking nothing!” I giggle at his face. That hairy mole looks hideous on his cheek. Fuck, I feel so high.

The sting from his hand grabbing a handful of my hair shakes me out of my joyful state. “You think you’re hot shit?” He slaps me. Hard. Then bruisingly grabs my face. “Mad dog? More like a barking puppy.”

“Better than looking like a rotten octopus that’s been run through a garbage disposal.” My spit hits his eye this time.

He wipes it off with his hand still holding the gun. “Let’s see how well you can talk with my cock lodged in your throat.”

“Please, that teeny, tiny elf dick can barely reach my uvula.”

He’s pushing my mouth wide when I hear the door banging open. I smile with relief, turning toward it, but it’s not River.

“Done?” Fuckchill asks the man standing on the threshold. I don’t wait for the answer. With a cry I gather from deep inside my gut, I use the last of my strength and stab him in the shoulder. He screams his pain as I pull the knife out and pierce his arm with it. Once. Twice. Then I bite his ear, close my sharp teeth around the thin flesh, clamp down mercilessly, and shake my head until I taste blood. I’ll show him why they call me Mad Dog.

I’m outnumbered. Can’t think straight, and will lose consciousness soon. I don’t know what happened to mykumichoand my bunny. But I’ll keep fighting until my last breath to be sure they’re still with me.

A crashing wave can be potent, but the ocean will get me in the end. When I drown, I just hope it’ll be in his arms.

River

Something isn’t right. My instincts are screaming at me to go find Aki. Maybe because usually, even if I’m not near him, my eyes can always find him. Not knowing if he needs me is making me feel uneasy and on edge. Where the fuck did they take him? I should ask the hostess when she comes back with the drinks.

Kumichois sitting at a rectangular table, smoking her cigarette and tapping her fingers on the glass surface. Her men are standing, one near the door, another near the window behind her like perfect statues. And that’s how she treats them, like working tools she uses to her advantage.

That’s not how Aki regards me. Even though I told him I’m his lowly bodyguard, I know I’m more than that. I’m the person he goes to when he wants to share his messy thoughts, needs advice, or just to vent. I’m his left hand, his confidant, his protector. I’m everything he wants me to be and more.

And I don’t like not being near him in such a risky situation. How long has it been since I left my phone at the entrance? Five minutes must have passed. Five more, and my crew will barge in. And I’ll force the owner to take me to Aki.

“I know what you and Aki have been up to,” thekumichosuddenly states in her raspy voice, looking straight at me while letting out a puff of smoke.

What have we been up to? Is she talking about Ishida-san?

This turns my edginess up a notch. She never talks more than necessary to me, and Aki is usually present. But today, this is the second time she seems to want to chat.

“The late nights together…” she adds suggestively.

She means… Motherfucking hell! I’m speechless as a mix of contrasting emotions fills my chest, making it hard to breathe.

“You must have an acquired taste. I don’t know how you put up with my nephew. Force of habit, perhaps?” she taunts me.

“Masa?” I ask. I’ll kill him…slowly, if I can still hold a weapon after thekumichois done with me.

She huffs. “He tells me the bare minimum. He was never a spy; he was simply additional help to Akira’s crew.”

I don’t completely believe her. I know how cunning she can be. Also as the big boss, she has every right to keep an eye on things.

“It was all you.”

Me?I blink a couple of times, showing my confusion.

“Generally, you exude dominance and danger, but when you look at my nephew, there’s a softness there. A longing.” Shepauses to drag on the cig. “Lately, those emotions are even stronger. How long did you think you could hide it from me?” Her tone has turned hard. Menacing.

Of course she doesn’t want her nephew, the only heir to the family, to end up with a nobody from nowhere.

“I had no intention to insult mykumicho, but it seems that I did it anyway.” I bend my body forward in apology.

“Don’t patronize me,gaijin. I asked you if he was seeing anyone, and you lied to my face! You both did!” She bangs her hand on the glass table.

“We are just having fun. It means nothing.”
