“I know how to get to Victoria and Kara. Mallory is another story,” Alexa says.
“I’m trying to figure her out. She was nice and friendly with Skye and Snow, but after the date, she just started acting weird,” Mason joins us, taking a seat next to Mckenna, so Dayton goes and grabs another beer.
“I agree,” I nod my head.
“She has to know Lily. And I think Lily knew Kelsey before the show,” Snow says.
“And how does it all tie to Skye?” That’s what I don’t understand. I believe Skye when she said she didn’t know either of them.
“I have a friend in security who can do some digging,” London joins us.
“Thanks,” Memphis tells him. “Let us know what he finds.”
We sit in silence and watch the night sky and listen to the whispering pines and the songs of the night birds. I love times like this. It’s relaxing and beautiful.
I want more of these times, too.
“You’ll get them,” London says.
“Are all you people mind readers?” I keep saying my thoughts aloud. I should learn to quit before it gets me in trouble. Oh, it already has.
Everyone laughs and we turn talk to other things like what everyone wants to do after the show. I’m surprised Alexa wants to move to Hickory Falls.
“I love small towns. I spotted some land and I want to build a small house, maybe have some chickens.”
“Those things are the devil,” Memphis mutters, causing Ever to swat his arm, laughing.
“No, they just don’t like you,” she teases.
“Like I said, the devil,” he retorts.
I laugh at that. They can be brutal little shits.
“You can have a few of mine,” Ever offers.
“Yes, take them all,” Memphis chimes in.
“Thank you, Ever. I don’t know anything about them, though.”
“I’ll help you,” she offers. Ever has a good heart. I wish more people were like her. She could have turned her back on Skye and Memphis after learning what happened that night when she was hit by that car, but she didn’t. She forgave them.
Mason wants to build a ranch near here as well. Snow is moving in with Anne. Dayton has to stay in Atlanta. London has taken up residency in Ever’s new home. Mckenna and Jimmy are going to be roommates. I think there is something there. I hope so for Jimmy.
“I’m glad I came on the show,” Alexa says, “I found new friends. I’m sorry I was a bitch in the beginning.”
“See Linc, people make mistakes and they move on,” Ever tells me, pointing at Alexa.
“Why are we friends again?” I mock.
“Because you love me,” she sticks her tongue out at me.
“Hey, that’s only for me,” Memphis whisper yells.
Good times with good people. I’m wondering if I’m good people still.
