“I was going to rent a car, but Ever offered,” he says as we pull out.

“That was nice of her.”

“I know you . . .”

“Like I told Brice, I don’t care. I’m not a child. You don’t have to handle me with kid gloves. He made his choice. I have people to choose from. Who knows? I could be your sister-in-law soon.”

I’m teasing him and it feels fun.

He laughs. “That would make for some interesting family dinners.”

“I bet.”

He pulls in and we walk to the park. People are pointing at the cameras following us, or they’re pointing at us.

I ignore all of them. After a few hours, we head into Atlanta for dinner. He chooses sushi, and I could kiss him.

“I know it’s your favorite.” He smiles at me as we browse the menu. “One of everything,” he says.

“Axel!”

“It’s alright. We’ll eat it all.”

“Thank you.”

“Of course. I have to say that you were amazing today.”

“Thank you.”

“That calf was super cute.”

“It sounds so weird to hear you say that.”

“Why? Because I’m so handsome?”

“No,” I giggle, “because you’re so huge. Do you and your brother fight in the cage often?”

“Yes. Not many people can go against him. He’s better than me, though.”

“I heard he’s undefeated.”

“He is. Someday I hope to best him.”

“Isn’t it weird to fight your brother in front of a crowd?”

“Not really. We tune them out and have fun, actually. We both like to talk shit when we’re fighting. When he goes against anyone else, he’s a silent giant.”

“Before actually talking to you two, I was nervous.”

“Again, because I’m so handsome?” he teases.

“No, big goof, you’re just what you said—a giant.”

“I’m a big teddy bear.”

“I know that now.” I laugh.

“My obvious charm.” He grins.
